2024 Toyota LandCruiser 70 Series GXL Wagon (car review)
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
When you think Australia, you may think football, meat pies, kangaroos and... well that other brand that's no longer around, but there's another Aussie icon that's still going strong. We speak of course, of the Toyota LandCruiser 70 Series.
For decades the 70 Series has been known for its ruggedness, reliability, and off-road capabilities, as well as being one of Australia’s most dependable vehicles in the outback. That's thanks to its V8 powerplant, only this isn't that vehicle.
Instead, we're testing the new for 2024, 4-cylinder turbo diesel automatic. It's a combination that has raised the ire of the purists, but may well be the future of the 70 Series. The new donk and transmission isn't the only change though.

Good review
Well presented. Subbed.
😍😍😍😍 thank you for the review 👍
what kind of wheels are these???
The front is updated though it's more of the older version.
70 Series are produced in 1984 right and not 1970's? 🤔
Didn't mention anything about the 4 cylinder for towing capability.

Can you remove the snorkel at the front? It would look so much better without it.

Yes you can! This way you finally get rid of the last remaining resemblance to the old legend.

You can't mate. Toyota is aware that every 70 series owner will need that bit of penis extension to justify the price tag of a truck with 80's tech.
🎉👍👍👍👍🎉
unlike the Landrover this is looks like it wants to get shitfaced, in the mud...

My series 2 Land Rover will go anywhere and conquer anything , only off road though. 2nd gear low range, awesome. My daily driver , a Land Cruiser V8 does everything l require of it, on and off road through the outback and back again. But l do like the look of the new 70 series.
1. If you don't have the money for the V8's fuel consumption, just buy a Fortuner or Hilux... 2. "A good 4X4 is built, not bought". The V8 needs a tune - and it becomes a beast! While a tuned 2.8 cannot beat a tuned V8. 3. The 2.8 sounds dull and boring, while the V8 with a freeflow, just sounds epic! (Pity one cannot fit a loud exhaust to the 76 SW, since it causes an irritating "drone sound" at highway speeds, due to the outlet being under the passenger cell. The pickups doesn't have such issue with a louder exhaust)

+ Full control of the car with a manual gearbox, ability to push start, and simplicity and reliability.

Since work V8 needs a tune? What kind of jack axx V8 needs a tune to perform properly and void your warranty?

@@espkh1549 The V8 TD for some reason is massively detuned, and as such a tune performs wonders! In this case a good 4X4 is built, not bought...

@@travelmates1 people pay the Toyota tax for its reliability so it don’t make no sense to tune the engine that result in voiding the warranty and its reliability.
if your not getting the manual V8 just go get a prado and a dress
Couldn't they put a detuned version of the 300 series twin turbo V6 ??? I swear Toyota just love to milk their customers 😂😂😂

@mertkocabas7604 I meant the diesel plant in the 300 series in our market ( Australia ) instead of the weak sauce 2.8l 4 cylinder engine ?
Another salesperson is trying to persuade people to switch from V8 to 2.8. The trolls have started! :))
