The Hilux GR-S keeps getting better with every iteration. What started out as styling package, was enhanced by a substantial power upgrade in the second version and now, for the third act, Toyota has thrown in suspension and brake upgrades to compliment the meatier engine output. How do the upgrades translate on the road? Marius finds out, as he puts the GR-S through its paces both on and off the tarmac.

Holy cow what a wonderful surprise to see your back with ignition. You’re the best vehicle journalist ever. Had to smile is it worth the $$ NO. Anyway the tech on that truck is the same as Jan Van Riebeeck had when land on SA soil. Look forward to more of your programs.

I don't get Marius's take that you hardly use the back. I'm forever loading stuff there. I have family in the neighboring country and we will sometimes travel 10 people in the double cab to ceremonies. Strange that he doesn't like double cabs when he did such a great job of reviewing the previous Isuzu AT35. Can you please review the current one in the dunes as well (include the old one for reference). Pretty please.
Why in the word do all the manufacturers use those crap cigarette socket ports for the back 12V sockets. Those things come undone so quick the first bump it goes over. Put a bloody Anderson plug in and the beers will stay cold if you put your fridge on.

Toyota should have offered 2.8 GD6 Hilux and Fortuner models with 155kW and 550Nm in 2016 already

Raider vs xlt gives hilux a better fighting chance. Price wise those make more sense anyway than 1 million dollar bakkies.
Put reliability aside, Toyota has to sort out their interior!

It is old and ugly, and they just gave it more plastic and useless GR badges and very expensive. And yes the top seller bakkie and also 30% gets stolen and had to be replace, helping there sales figures, Raptor is the king.
