As far as racing goes drag cars anyway nothing sweeter than hearing those small cube engines reving out of the frame rails with a 4speed damn sweet music to the ears for sure

When I hear 283 and racing reminds me back at the end of the 80's 283 methenal asphalt winged sprint car days!

I used to know a guy who had a 283 in a sprint car making 500hp. It sounded choppy and mean. I thought it was a 383 stroker, when I asked what he was running. I think he was running alcohol too fwiw.

@@davidincognito7285 damn , that's a mean little motor bud , I always wanted to build a dz302 copy , just for the rpms as a daily driver for fun , just can't justify it lol

Amazing the 283 small block Chevrolet V8 engine that can get through the track I’m wondering how much horsepower does it make

i personally don't think its drag racing when there is a computer on board controlling the traction, shift points and so on. there should be no controlling sh!t. u and the car manual shifting, that's true drag racing.

It's the same as the DZ 302 that came in the Camaro . The DZ 302 is a 283 crank with 3 inch stroke and a 327 block The 307 is a 327 crank in a 283 block I got a built 327 that screams to the moon at 11,000rpm before the valves start to float , it pulls both front tires off the ground in a 66 Chevelle Super Sport that weighs 3200lb, 11 inch clutch , Lakewood Blow Proof bell housing , M-21 Muncie 4 speed trans , 12 bolt posi .

What happened to 1/4 mile drag racing? 1/4 mile is barely long enuff. 1/8th mile is nothing more than a 60 ft time. Why? I like the fact you're class racing with a stick shift. Bracket racing sucks. Also liked seein the 68 goat run.
