I read in the article online that one of the early bird reviewers from a reputable AV outlet, he measured that the Sony 75" Bravia 9 has around 1920 dimming zones🤯 That's on the same number of zones as Samsung's 8K flagships TVs. Sony have seemed to really step their game up finally regarding their LED TVs for the first time in a very long time.

@@TechSteve I wish they would put a number on the series to reflect the year. Make next year's 9 series model 925 for example. Would make it too easy tho. I wish my tv was older than just 2 years. The 9 would be one I would consider. But I'm too frugal to swap out tv's this quick.

I got a A80L oled. Very happy with color reproduction. Yes, it's not as bright as mini LEDs but I watch movies at night and the room has no direct sunlight. It works for me. The models with QD OLED would be nice if prices were lower.😊

Bravia 9 85” or A95L 77”? Tv is going in a dark room for movies/shows and some gaming (not sure if my burn-in concern is still a valid concern anymore)

Still not 100% sold on mini-LED, as I heard there can be black crush just like with OLED.

I have A80L TV: Is it worth getting a matching Sony soundbar (Theatre Bar 8 or HTA-5000) to pair with the acoustic panel, or is the pairing with the acoustic panel all hype? For value, also considering JBL Bar 1000 or Polk Audio Signa S4. thanks

If you buy this Sony TV with the Sony soundbar make sure a hissing does not come from the TVs tweeters, when using the TV as a center speaker. It is still is a common issue across the world with the J, K and L series. I bought an X90L TV from a company that had good customer service and returned both the TV and Soundbar. Some people unfairly notice after its too late to get a refund. Appareently many have had the motherboard changed but sometimes it doesnt work. Sony are terrible for sending out so many faulty units and not being honest and recalling them because there are so many TVs out there with this fault.

If there is a reason to bravia8 or I go with A80l, is cheaper

I currently have the X93L and HT-7000 Soundbar. I am interested in the Voice Zoom 3. Can I keep my x93L and get the new Sony Theater 9 and have access to Voice Zoom 3?

Im in the same boat as you. I was going to buy a new TV last year and was interested in the X95L because of Sonys superior procesing, but what stopped me was the fact that in the UK its smallest size was 69 inch and im limited to 55 with my setup. So hearing that Bravia 7 is shaping up to be a slightly better X95L but coming in 55 inches was music to my ears!

Bravia 7 is pretty much the X95L

Please evaluate if mini-LED of their flagship Bravia 9 makes any compromise on the "pure black" quality of OLED, or is it very very very close, but not equal?

You cannot compare OLED to LCD or mini LED...OLED are premium for a reason and reflected in the price.

@@scottamac3224 In this case, Sony's top of the line, the Bravia 9, is using mini-LED, so they are not "conceding" that mini-LED is inferior, or that we have to accept it for a lower price.

Sony Bravia 3. Can I connect an external hard drive to it ? and do you know if it plays all movie formats.

NO reason whatsoever to buy the Bravia 3 series. Instead buy last years X90 series for less money and better specs BY FAR.

The Bravia 3 is 60 Hz but the X85K is 120 Hz which is better for fast video games like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III. If you're only streaming or watching movies then the Bravia 3 is probably the better choice.

8:47 I don't know that LG soundbar is hard to beat.

Bravia 8, this reviewer comment was useless. The Bravia 8 is brighter and has a newer tweaked processor. Extra brightness is worth the extra $150 over the A80L

@@TechSteve thanks for your response I went with the 2022 Vizio quantum x 50 inch for $600, loving it so far best quality tv I’ve had. Haven’t tried any Sonys or Samsungs yet which will probably blow it out of the water, but when I update my workout room I may try the oled then. Was looking for the Vizio oled this time but didn’t find anything or anyone that still sold it 🙃

@@user-ky7nj8od8w Check out the new for 2024 Bravia 7 Mini-LED or the Bravia 8 OLED. If you have tons of money to spend you may even want to step up to the Mini-LED Bravia 9 although keep in mind that the X90L is still available and the 85" is very affordably priced now.

So the x85 series is dead

Pretty sure the bar 9 doesn’t have 2 hdmi in ports like ht-7000 huge deal breaker 4 me
