As the little lion was too young to go. The journey is about finding out why the dragon who lives above in the clouds, is not bringing any rain. These colorful heads are all handmade which is a style of lion dancing in Malaysia and Taiwan. More closely related to the Hakka lion. Each of the 5 element colors which are red, blue, green, yellow, and white - are representation of Fire, Water, Wood, Earth and Metal. The directions (East, North, West, South, and Center) also represent the 5 elements in Chinese culture which promote harmony and balance. They made a rare appearance during a Boston lion dance parade - a day with firecrackers in the streets. Also includes the 2024 Boston Chinese Lion Dance Parade which happened recently to celebrate the dragon 龍 🐲🐉 year, where hundreds or perhaps thousands attend the beautiful Asian Chinese celebration with many lion dancers & Múa Lân lion dance drumming along with loud red firecrackers in the streets. San Francisco Chinatown USA and Boston Chinatown are just some cities that have their own Chinese neighborhood communities with delicious food & restaurants as well as NYC or New York City which has its own Chinatown locations. During CNY - Tết is also known to other Asian communities around the world during Lunar New Year season. Lion dance 舞獅 is related to prosperity, wealth, abundance and success. The lion dance can be a mix of adult & young generation performers. Orange and lettuce are part of Choy Cheng or also spelled as Choi Cheng used in traditional lion dance in many restaurants and stores, plus during wonderful fun street festival performances.
