2024 PROJECT OF THE MONTH Kick Off! Join us in an adventure to complete some unfinished projects!

Introducing our 2024 Project of the Month! I share the projects that I will be attempting to finish this year. I have picked projects that I have been wanting to tackle for years. The shop projects always come before my personal projects and it's time to put some fun projects back on my list!
We challenge everyone everywhere to pick out 12 projects you want to accomplish in 2024.They can be any type or size of project you want! Quilts, Crafts, Painting, knitting, Crocheting, Home Dec, Scrapbooking Projects, Clothing, Legos, Art Pieces, - absolutely any category! It's your choice! Write the list down, numbering them one through twelve. Find a way to store them so they are accessible and easy to find. The first week of each month we will present a video where I reveal what I accomplished and to pick the number for the project that month. Then it's time to work on whatever project we pick for that month!! Get It Done!!
This year we encourage you to also pick a bonus project, something BIG! Do a little bit every month and by the end of the year you will be done or at least closer to done than you were in January! Some projects need to be spread out over a longer period of time, look for something very special.
We know it is sometimes hard to motivate yourself to finish old projects or start on a project that is intimidating. We want to help you get over the hurdle and help you create and enjoy the satisfaction of a finished project! Let's do this together!!

Hi Shelley. My name is Tracy and I live in Australia . Your project box #4 - the T blocks are for a Temperance Quilt. I have Kathleen Tracy's book "Civil War Sewing Circle" in which she tells a little of the history behind the Temperance quilt and features a mini quilt pattern. I'm excited to see your finished quilt. 😊 I too like to rescue UFO projects from Thrift stores.

You don't know how glad I am to see your projects. I also buy up other sew sisters' projects from the past. I have many many mid-century blocks and partial blocks, wedding ring curves, etc. I'm very excited to see your solution to some of these and it inspires me to work on my collection. Isn't it fun to see the fabrics, and to wonder about the maker- as well as her life? I like to think of these projects as a team effort in getting them done. I will be avidly watching!

I'm actually purging and packing so I can sell my house and move out of state. When I was setting up my sewing room many years ago, my Son actually gave me this idea. He said I should have no more than 10 containers on my shelves. When I finished one, I could add another to the end of the line. Maybe I'll join you next year but I'll certainly keep up with all of you to see how you're coming along.

You have such beautiful 2024 projects! I followed you all of 2023 and finally decided to participate. So I made my list yesterday, and number 10 will be first up - to finish two months of easy blocks for a block of the month I never finished from a few years ago. I am dreading number 11, which is to finish the hard blocks on said BOM, so thanks for not choosing that one. 😂. I have one project spread out to last three months because it is … awful. One of mine is also squares which were hand-appliquéd to the background that my Mom and I started 45 years ago. She did lovely hand-appliqué work. I was supposed to do the border. All fun fabrics from my childhood as Mom made all my clothes. I am trying to decide how to add the border without having to appliqué it on. But that will be for another month. Happy sewing!

I started my list from memory and have 5 things on it, one of which could be my bonus project. I need to check my pile of UFOs as I know I have way more than 5! My bonus project is a hand pieced hexie quilt top. I started it in 2010 when I was diagnosed with an illness and needed to go backwards and forwards to hospital regularly. I haven't touched it in a long time. It's a good sized piece now so I am thinking of just filling in the gaps and turning it into a Linus Quilt. I'll finish my list this weekend and see which project lands at No10.

I generally don’t listen to much narrative on quilting & sewing channels, but I actually thoroughly enjoyed listening to you because you have an easy to listen to voice, you aren’t playing background music 😬, and it’s been such a pleasure seeing what you’ve found and your plans for them. I have stumbled upon this just a little late. I am so inspired by your ambition and projects that I am running to my sewing studio this minute to pull out 12 projects! At this rate I may clear old projects out in 4 years or so! 😅 I am grateful to you for this inspiring way to tackle all these "to do someday" projects! I have not been allowing myself to buy anything new but never know what to tackle so haven't accomplished much. So, so happy right now! Thank you!

Your vintage projects are the bomb! You are going to have a beautiful collection antique quilts when you are finished. You have motivated me to dig into my boxes of old. I hope you are getting the rest you need to heal, too. ❤

#9 with the green pieces and the string pieces is a Spiderweb design. I will be watching with interest, as I have a few old quilts I would like to repair and/or restore and/or re-make (because a lot of the fabric is not strong enough and has started to deteriorate. I love your collection of old quilt blocks, and I will be so happy to see how the quilts turn out. Thanks for the lovely video.

You might be able to use 10 and 11 blocks together.

Your planned projects are so exciting! I think I have the Pat Sloan book, but haven't done any projects from it yet so now I will take a look for your block!
