The Slingshot is a vehicle I theoretically should like, but don't. After all, I've owned a Can-Am Spyder for 11 years and absolutely love it. Heck, my very first contribution to Hooniverse back in 2009 was a design for a reverse trike buggy thing. But I test rode a first-gen Slingshot in 2017 and found it a major disappointment. The cockpit was crude and uncomfortable, the ride was unpleasant, steering was really wonky. It was bad enough to make me genuinely angry with Polaris. Imagine some Chinese no-name factory made a cheap knock-off Mazda Miata clone with horrible tires and half the bodywork stripped off it, and that's the Slingshot Experience. They've since dumped the old GM Ecotec engine, and it sounds like they've improved the build quality and driver's space since then. So perhaps I wouldn't be so critical of a newer one, but I have no reason to give it another try. I'll happily stick with motorcycle seating and controls for my three-wheelers, thank you.

Let me know when you come across a wrecked one with a good engine. Would love to have that 200hp all aluminum 8500rpm engine in my Miata.

I've ridden in an Atom years ago and I'm DYING to drive a Nomad, that's on the dream car list... I know someone with one, and I'm trying to make it happen.

A Miata is more useful in this case, and still more fun.

I don't agree that this is "as good as you could do with a 3-wheel set up". Just look at the Scorpion P6, Corso concepts, Aptera, etc.

Still not as good as a four-wheel setup though, that's the problem.

Why do people compare to a motorcycle? It’s not a motorcycle either. It’s its old thing.

Stop comparing the Slingshot to a Miata. It's not a car. Compare it to other 3 wheeled vihicle.
