I used the cousin this year, but got a mega weeks for next year. I didn't realize the weekly page doesn't have the grid 😦. I think it will work better for me in general though because it's smaller. I also got the plain A5 so I can daily journal in that. Definitely agree that the cousin was great for daily journaling! Glad I found your channel and I can't wait to see your 2024 plans.

📔Hi cool video. I will be using the new Take a Note in B6 size for my everyday planner. I have found I love this size. I will use the Hobonichi Day Free in A6 for my journal. I usually use the Hobonichi weeks for my everyday but have decided on something new after so many years.🤪

📔I am gonna be using also a Hobonichi Cousin Avec for next year as my main planner + daily journal. I like the idea of having a “duplicate” Weeks as an everyday carry so also considering that if there is a good design. I already got the Midori Double Schedule + To Do List planner so I have a running list of my to-do’s for the week (then I allocate it daily in the Cousin). My TN will still be my memory keeping journal with photos & ephemera. I also got a Midori Hibino but only because of FOMO. Still figuring out what I will use it for. 🙂

If you like gel pens you can cut Uni Style Fit refills to the same length as the refills found in the Hobonichi freebie pen. Am getting one each of the cousin, the A6 and the Weeks for next year :D

Exciting!!! Can’t wait until I can officially hit the purchase button tomorrow night!

I will be using multi hobo planners. I purchased Weeks Mega for my on the go planner. It will go everywhere with me. A regular weeks for my health planner. A6 day free will be used as my scripture planner. A5 dayfree to document all of my RV travel around the US memory keeper and lastly A5 cousin will be my regular journal/memory keeper.

I'm using a Hobonichi Cousin for my personal planner, an EC vertical for work, those may flip flop...still deciding. I was using an EC horizontal for scripture writing, but have dropped it and just do my scripture writing in my Hobonichi Cousin. Planning on the Cousin for next still deciding on the work planner.

13:07 the memo books from Hobonichi and the quarterly notebooks from Wonderland222 are perfect for swatch books. They are slim and tuck into your cover and they’ll be with your planner. And inexpensive too. And they are both TRP.

📚 I decided to be more honest with my emoji and put a planner stack. I will also be getting the cousin Avec or a Hon, not sure yet. An One Piece A6 or Hon. And some weeks as usual. I did decide to try the common planner in B6 and another size I think the TN standard weeks vertical. One or the other my sister or niece will end up with. I find myself using more of the plain notebooks now or other A5 notebooks. I collect covers though as an AuDHD (Autistic/ADHD), I have been obsessed with planning since I was 14.

Hi! I loved your video... I have the common planner B6 2023 and I love it, is a bit smaller than the cousin, but is very convenient por me... the perfect size, so pre order it for 2024, but in the compact version (less free pages). The paper is also Tomoe River S, the new version that will have the hobo lineup for this year, I've tried it and it is very smooth as well, but i've noticed maybe a bit less smudgings... hope that helps.

Common planner A6 vertical for EDC everything planner and journal, common planner passport vertical compact for work. Common planner N2 (weeks) horizontal compact was originally going to be for work, but with them in my hands passport seemed better for work, so the N2 may become a reading journal? Maybe.

I'm planning on using the b6 common planner (two book or avec type) and the papertess weeks for my on the go. Used the undated common planner for the last 3 months and I will be finishing out the year in it no problem. I'm loving it. It's the first time I haven't felt unsettled and having the wondering eye for other planners. I'm going to use the papertess for my weeks size because I don't like drawing lists out and making them neat so the built in structure although the no grid on the appointment boxes is kind of messing with me. As far as the ink problem I've never really had a problem with it. I use blotter paper so while I'm writing I rest my hand on it and when I'm done I just leave it between the pages and it dries against the paper with no wait for me. If you are using vinyl stickers in will run off them no matter what you do. I have used the permanent markers they suggest and the oils from my hands make them run like I dropped water on them.

I am definitely much better with ink smudges over this year. I think I just was so used to normal loose leaf paper and bullet journal thick paper that using Tomoe River was a shock. I have since figured out how to use it and pens I really like that work well and I very rarely have smudges anymore. Thanks for watching!!!!

Thx for posting. While I looked into the brands you mentioned, I'm looking at other stuff. The lessons learned apply to all stationery lovers though. And yes, I hate holding on to something when I don't like how it looks. Too, I don't want to lug around a full-year planner either. Anyone else ruin purchases tearing stuff out?😅

15:36 pens dry much faster on the new Sanzen which will be in the Hobonichi Cousin in 2024 and is what the SI common planners use this year and next. I use the UniBall ONE and never have smear issues. It dries so fast. But I also have tested lots of pens ….shared three actually in my recent clickables video. But there’s lots of good ones. I’ve never that the issue you have and I use gel pens all the time in it and all sorts of markers and pens. But you really need to invest in blotter paper it’s a very helpful tool for users of TRP.

I ordered four Sterling Ink planners. B6 compact for work. B6 full for my main planner. N2 (weeks) compact for my workouts and a N2 (weeks) full for my edc. I noticed a few comments about the sizing of Sterling Ink. The N1 (standard) is basically a slim A5. You mentioned a passport in reference to the weeks size, but the passport is their smallest size available (smaller than an A6). I know you commented to those messages that you checked the dimensions, but I just didn’t want you to be totally shocked when you received your Sterling Ink order and neither was a weeks size if you really ordered the N1 (standard) and passport sizes 👍

Thanks for the info on the sterling ink planner sizes. I am doing a video unboxing them as soon as they come in. I work 90% of the time at home and the only planner I am concerned about is the one I thought was similar to the weeks because that is my on the go planner. I preordered an A5 Common Planner Compact and a Hobonichi A6 for daily journaling! I'm hoping the smaller size planner will help with my angst of not filling a whole page with thoughts

The Cousins are switching in 2024, the Weeks in 2025. When you got your Cousin, you should have gotten a little sampler page of the new paper. It's very nice and not a huge change.

I’m sure you know that the order start time is the evening of the 31st in the US. So you can order tonight and don’t have to wait until 9/1 bc of the time difference.

No Hobos for me. I haven’t used them in a few years. I don’t like the paper color and the color on the pages (distracts my brain) and the wasted functional space drives me batty. My everything planner next year is the Wonderland222 all in one unstacked vertical and I’m so excited. Do wish they did half year bc I love a half year book (for less bulk and a fresh start) but I love all the function of the W222 I’m ok with one book. I have a video coming next week on the W222 actually. For work I’m not 💯 set but pretty sure it’ll be the Franklin-Japan planner. It comes next week I think and can’t wait to share and check it out. I’m testing out my on the go between a sterling ink or a6 rings. Testing rings now with a video coming too 😝

I have a very detailed video on the SterlingInk 2024 lineup on my channel but you are correct - all the pages of the CP planners regardless of size and style are gridded. Every page is gridded in the planner whether it’s passport, A6, Weeks, B6, Standard or A5. You do know that a Standard size (also called narrow and called N1 by SterlingInk) isn’t a small planner right? It’s the same height as an A5 just narrower. It’s the 2nd largest size she offers. The N2 (weeks size) and passport are both quite a bit smaller (as is A6…b6 is a little wider but shorter so roughly the same page space). Just wanted to make sure you knew since you said you wanted a small content planner because the N1 standard isn’t small. It’s the same size as a standard travelers notebook.

I think I looked at the sizes when I ordered. If not, I’ll just have more room to plan. The only issue will be the weeks version if it ends up being bigger than I thought. We will see when it gets here…

I'm going from cousins to weeks. The cousin is way too heavy. You're right.

Wow that’s a big shift. In size and style. If you like the cousin but it’s too big or too much space the CommonPlanner comes in B6 and A6 size in the same layout. And full and half year versions.

The full year cousin gets very heavy…hopefully the weeks will be much better for your planning needs next year!

I'll be using the Cousin HON for my main planner, an Eric Condrin for school and internship (that'd an academic year so already using it, it is OK, won't be getting next year), and a Travelers Notebook for work. (I can find the planner emoji!)

I really was debating the HON vs the Avec but I decided to try out the half year in 2024 to see if I liked it better than the full year. I might go back to the HON in 2025 because I really liked the cover of those planners. Thanks for watching!!!!!

@heidisplanning I couldn't say no to the Liberty Fabrics (the pretty cheery flowers)! For me the travelers notebook is new but I am starting a new job (yay!) where I will be seeing clients in home so will need to make appointments and I like the Common Planner booklets because you can mix and match and buy only what you need.

Ugh. I am in planner decision hell. I bought the 2023 Common Planner and never used it. Not even once. My Mega weeks was used a bit but I don’t need those extra pages and the monthly squares are too small. My tried and true Jibun Techo in A5 slim was the best fit, but I still have planner FOMO for 2024. 😢

Just remember the only way you miss out really is if your system doesn’t work and another you can’t get would. If the Jibun works for you and is doing it’s job of getting you organized and keeping you on track then you aren’t missing out. You are actually ahead of the game in the community because many can’t seem to find their good fit. Also remember with most planners if you device you want it later you can snag one. Not always the case but 95% of the time you can find what you want still available or from someone destashing.
