You are spot on, Rob Blake is the worst GM in the league. The Kings no longer have the prospect pool they once had. Blake’s blunders have made this team less competitive. It’s been years now and they have not brought in a quality goaltender. The only reason this dude is not fired is his buddy Luc is the President. I get they were both great players, but they suck at their jobs now.

Buffalo’s not bringing back the same team. They got rid of Mittelstadt and Skinner, two of their most productive forwards, and tried to replace them with Jason Zucker. The team’s going in reverse.

Nobody wants to come to Buffalo, that’s why. He’s tried to make trades but GMs try to scam him like with Jacob C that Ottawa got for half price of what Buffalo was told to give up. Buffalo picked up very good bottom 6 guys, all we need is one 3rd line center or a top 6 winger, Peterka and Quinn will play more next year so why get some 32 year old free agent?

Buffalo's big move was hiring Lindy Ruff. Kevin Adams GM career will be over if they don't get in the playoffs next season, imo.

I was very disappointed in the Wings lack of signings. We really needed a top 6 forward and a top 4 pairing right d-man. We didn't address those at all even after clearing cap space in that awful Walman trade. It looks like we're finally going to give some of the young guys opportunities, but we really needed to surround them with more pieces to help with their development. Plus, Yzerman still hasn't got deals done with Seider and Raymond. I have no idea why that's taking so long. Hopefully he can pull off a trade or two, but we don't really have assets that any team would want besides guys who are supposed to be our cornerstones. I hope I'm wrong, but I feel like this year is going to be a big step back for the Wings.

Is he trying to grow the Wings organically through the draft? Makes me wonder why it's taking so long yet it's taken the Oilers a long time to reach the Stanley Cup finals too. So...we are in a wait n see situation.

@@johnm8096 This off season, the Devils improved their major league goaltending; improved their organizational goaltending depth; improved their defense; improved their coaching; got bigger, stronger and scrappier; and did it all without compromising their overall team speed or losing significant draft capital. They didn't add a forward of significance, nor did they need to. If it turns out they need one, they have the prospects and draft capital to get one at the trade deadline. Great job by NJ.

I agree about your thoughts with Seattle's contracts with Montour and Stephenson. GM Ron Francis is notorious for signing risky, overpaying contracts which led to his dismissal with Carolina back then. If these pair doesn't pan out in the next few seasons, I would not be surprised that Francis receives a pink slip for overpaying veteran players and not keeping enough talent for the Kraken.

I'm unfamiliar with Chandler Stevenson, yet Brandon Montour is a player who I have been tracking for years now (Buffalo & Anaheim before he ended up in Florida where he blossomed imo) & I've been watching him trend in a upward progression as a complete all around defenseman. He deserves his payday imo. In fact I'm surprised that Bill Zito didn't move Aaron Ekblad in order to retain Montour. Imo Montour has surpassed Ekblad. Sean Durzi in Utah is another player who I've been watching trending upward. I really liked what Utah's Bill Armstrong did with the trades for Sergyachev & Marino.

I think free agency wasn't where Buffalo needed to do things. Buffalo has never been a desired location for big name UFA's, so the only real chance would be significant over payment. I expect Buffalo to make a trade when the dust all settles, especially after buying out Skinner. There's room to weaponize that cap space.

I think LA took Foegele from Edmonton as compensation for the Oilers taking Arvidsson. It was a trade without actually being a trade (because both players were UFA's). As much as I liked Desharnais, he kind of lost his spot on the roster to Broberg, especially during the Oilers' recent playoff run. I think the Oilers likely end up keeping Ceci at the start of the season, and if he plays well enough, maybe they can move him ahead of the trade deadline as a rental (likely with salary retention of about $1M-$1.25M), and get someone a bit cheaper for another playoff push.

As a Hawks fan I like them all except the Brodie signing. Two years at 3.7 million per season I believe. He was a healthy scratch for the Leafs in the playoffs last season. That’s not a good sign. The salary seems excessive plus the term seems unnecessary. Maybe he was hurt last season and Chicago is hoping for a bounce back. Other than that I like the signings.

Leafs still have the Great MAtt Murray Sens forgot to let know he was damaged goods as 3rd lol :p. Jk Stolarz may not have that experience. But to get that experience. He needs to play. He was playing behind Bobrovski. There was no way Stolarz was playing near the amount of game Bobby was. Got stolarz at a cheap contract at 2.5ish mill. Then Wolls contract just for this year is under as M. 25/26 season however. Two goalies will be making just over 6m put together. Never know what the player can do unless given that chance. Like Woll. He’s been given chances and is injury prone. And yet. They are still gonna run with him. Stolarz may be 30ish. Still young. And the experience he did learn from the guys he played backup to over his career is priceless. And will be to Woll as well. This just my opinion. Everyone has their own. :).
