I agree! It looks beautiful! Trying a piece of firm foam behind the page might help when stamping and using an ink like Versafine ink might help.👑

to make sure paint or pages (if you make your own) can be passed down, use baking soda in the tea dying. It will make the pages archival. (or look for that word...)

This is stunning! I love the idea of the fairytale, rich color, gilded design book at the beginning. 👑

Love the futur log with dutch doors at the start. I squished a year in mine for 2023 and hate it. Will use that set up for 2024. And finally try dutch door. I have the « can’t destroy the page » hang up. So 2024 resolution is to simply go for it! I will channel Bob Ross and only have happy accidents if it does not work.

fun fact for ya, most of the paint colors used in fairy tale books are lethal. :) The actual components of the paints (Vermillion and Sheele's/ Paris green) have actual poisons in them, with Sheele's being among the most well known as it contained arsenic to get that gorgeous hunter's coppery green.

I have not read all the comments, so maybe this was asked already, but have you attempted to spray the samps with a bit of water (very lightly) right before stamping? It would help with the acrylic that is nearly dry but not fully, and activate more paint at the same time. just a thought. :) As always, I absolutely love what your mind comes up with. Gorgeous! 👑

This turned out so beautifully! ✨👑 Really magic!

I use a white washi tape to cover up spine bleed through in my journal. It is flexible enough to bend with the pages but still covers up the bleed through completely. Just an idea for your title page.

I have just picked up the primrosia journal from Amazon. I wanted a mellow days one but it's so expensive for Aussies with Shipping etc. The Amazon one was about $40. It also has textured watercolour paper and so far I've found minimal buckling or ghosting with gouache and small watercolour washes. So if any Aussies want a similar mellow days book without the price tag, I think these are a decent alternative.

@ErinSmith no worries. I also got a beautiful dot journal from bespoke letterpress from a local stationary shop for a similar price. I couldn't find the GSM of the paper, though it says 'heavy duty' is reasonably thick, I don't think it's all the way to 160. I'm using it for a commonplace/long term collections journal. It also can handle a bit of gouache and Watercolour details but I wouldn't be doing a whole page wash or large chunk of a page I don't think. But another beautiful option if people want a really pretty dot journal in Australia. It was about $45 which is quite reasonable.
