Last year I had Nebraska at 7-5 and they went 5-7.

I still will never forget Nebraska fans giving Ricky Williams a standing ovation in ‘98 in Lincoln, and that was after waiting 2 years to avenge Texas ending their 3 peat bid in ‘96. They had every reason to be bitter, but still showed great class. Those people deserve a winner.

That’s absolutely insane, and shows how bad the coaching has been (mostly Frost) and how indoctrinated the roster got to the losing close games. Rhule will get it much better imo

How sad is it, that we're so irrelevant, that Lou repeatedly refers to us as Wisconsin. But I get it. Big 10 Team Wears Red Best Coach and AD was a Husker.

Gritty pound the rock, and much more, Barry totally lifted it from the 90s huskers. Can't really blame em, but yeah the badgers are annoying but I've always respected em

Husker Fan here... I am a Nebraska Homer, I have rooted for them since early 80s. I agree with you. I think you are pretty much spot on.

Hell yeah, my team. GBFR. I believe in the rhule process. Yeah the missed bowl last year was disappointing, but I was pleasantly surprised so far with everything this coaching staff is doing.

Matt Rhule’s run at Temple was really impressive. Temple was voted out of the Big East for lack of competitiveness, attendance, and facilities. The program is just hard to win at, even in a Group of 5 Conference. Rhule had 2 10 Win Seasons, 2 Division Titles, First Conference Title since 1967, First Win over Penn State since 1941 (30+ Meetings during that span).

As a Colorado fan I too would like to see a strong Nebraska.

Thanks for shouting out the fact that we lost by 3 so many times, lou - - it's in fact a big motivation for that locker room this year. Rhules been using it as "chasing 3" and this season no matter what is put up or shut up time. Less talking, win on the field is all we care about as a vibe as a fanbase this year... We're very susceptible to a moral victory talking ourselves into the Kool-aid every year, but it has to change and a lotta people are tired up here in Lincoln. Gotta hope we got the right guy now. As a Husker fan, I'll take 8-4 and a pretty decent bowl game. 9 wins would be ecstatically fantastic as it would mean beating either CU, tOSU, USC, Whiskey, or Iowa. So, I'll take 8 wins and a optimistic chance to shock someone we're not favored against. My actual prediction is we shock CU in a LOUD night win in Lincoln. I dont think they'll lose to both Wisconsin and Iowa. I dont see either of those being much improved over last season. Both will have struggling offenses as well.

This discussion is so old and every analyst and computer neerd have ran the numbers and all the metrics. No team in history has ever or will ever come close to the '95 huskers! Period. End of discussion! 2001 Miami had the most talent of any team, but weren't even the best team that year. Should have played Oregon in the Natty who would have beat them.

We’re probably gonna go 7-5 bro. I honestly think we’re going to not only drop one of those first 6 games (like CU, Purdue, or Rutgers). I still don’t trust our offense, idc if we have a Co-OC, as long as Satterfield has a hand in that offense I think they will still struggle on that side of the ball. We might beat UCLA and Wiscy, we’re just not at the point to have 9 plus win expectations. I hope to god I’m wrong

We lost bc we had no quarterback! The quarterback that won the 5 games never saw the field. He wasn’t even on the practice squad and was on the scout team. Can’t win without a quarterback

Just cause you get better doesn't mean you win. If the teams you play in the back half of the schedule are just that much better you lose. Being better doesn't = wins. You aren't playing the same teams in the back half of the yewr as you are in the first half. If colorado and Nebraska played in November, I would pick Nebraska. It's pretty simple and not a contradiction at all.

You said 8-4, you're predicting 7-5. They will not lose to Iowa.

That front loaded schedule certainly points to 7 wins, but the hope is 8. 7 will not be viewed upon favorably by the fanbase and it will be a let down. Not beating Iowa and Wisconsin will also be huge let downs locally.

Huskers have been good enough to win 10 games since 2021. Lou missed the mark again on losing those close games. The losses weren’t vs. bad teams…the losses came vs themselves. Huskers have been good enough to beat top 10 to 20 teams and lost by 3. Huskers have lost in some of the oddest ways since 2021. Great example? Huskers DOMINATE Colorado in the trenches…yet found a way to fumble 5 times. Huskers, as far as total team talent, easily top 15! the last 4 years have been top 17ish. Remember this team has been the youngest roster in 21 & 22…young last year, but had almost 12 seniors! Huskers will have the oldest roster since 2016! Huskers goal in 2024? Huskers will win 10 games this year and will make a run for playoffs. My opinion they will be a playoff team! Pretty easily win 9…Should win 11. With a top 5 or 10 defense… and the offense that just needs to be top 40ish. This Blueblood is back! Huskers 10-2 could win 11 abut could be as bad as 9 wins
