I think the spurs will trade one of those picks for a veteran player. This is an extremely weak draft. And with the way wemby had played, they could compete fir the playoffs next year if he had a high caliber shot maker on the perimeter to pair with wemby and nake life easier for him. I know they have vessel, but he is a bottom tier scorer. He can't go off and put up 30 on a given night and light someone up for 50 when he's cooking.

No way the bulls take him at 11 when we already have Coby White who is a bigger better version of him.

Im sure like most was not expecting the hawks to win the lottery at all. But I love Alex Sarr fit with the hawks think he will be one of the best rim protectors in the league out the gate making the hawks an average to barley above average defense. And Trae will spoon feed him easy looks at the rim while his offensive game develops. Now this might be too lofty of a comparison but Sarr reminds me a lot of Bam Adebayo to be honest.

Easy choice to sub, man. Great work! You won't make everyone happy, but clearly executed and well organized thoughts.

I agree with Risacher and Knecht. Both are smart and have good size to fit into Pop's defensive schemes. Knecht provides instant offense and will help space the floor for Wemby to do his stuff.

Right, where is McCain going to find minutes when the Thunder already have shorter guards like Dort, Joe, and Wallace in their rotation? All of those guys are locked up contract-wise for at least another season. They need a power forward or center, since they are already loaded with talent at the guard position.

Great video. I'm in the group of people that hate this draft, and think it's ceiling may be *slightly better* than the Oladipo draft (basically 1 star, couple All-Star level people, rest is pretty awful). Sure enough, it started getting a bit depressing to me after Pick 4, lol. I think teams as high up as the late lottery may be hoping for just a decent bench guy, and I suspect a lot of teams will have to stay put as the value for the picks won't be that high.

As an OKC fan I don't want another guard. We already have plenty of those in rotation and rebounding is our main weakness.

I see if Risacher does fall to 4 with the Spurs, idk if the next 3 picks go for a smaller guard like Dillingham. The Pistons have Cade and Ivey and need a wing. the Hornets Have Lamelo who is a big guard but really lacks defensively and also need shooting around him. The Trailblazers have Scoot and Anfernee Simons both smaller guards. Now obviously those teams can all pick off potential for the future, but I could see the Spurs getting Zaccharie and Rob depending on how the draft plays out.

No way the Rockets take a G in the 3 spot, we really need a center Donovan Clingan is a way better fit at defensive center for the Rockets.

Risacher to Spurs at 4 makes a lot of sense but passing on a point guard with shotmaking ability in Dillingham for a backup SG to Vassell in Knecht seems like a huge missed opportunity

Count on the San Antonio Spurs to confound the so-called experts. They likely sign a free agent point guard and use their 4 an 8 picks to take the best players available.

Ive said it elsewhere but i have no problem with the Raptors losing the pick if they didnt get 1 or 2. I expect the team to very marginally improve next year so we may still get the 8th pick next year which would be better than most of the top 8 this year.

Can someone explain to me why a guy averaging 10 and 5 in the NBL is the number 1 pick? We've had undrafted free agent forwards come to the league and average 25 and 12 after a couple of years in junior college.

Because he a elite defender who fits the modern nba a guy that can play the 4/5 can defend on the perimeter and rim being a rim protector while being mobile on perimeter he very similar to Evan Mobley and jaren Jackson jr his offense needs work but has shown flashes he has crazy upside which is what you use on the number pick 1

Dillingham is not going to do anything of that for at least his first couple years. They are going to get a vet PG for Wemby who won't make stupid mistakes that Dillingham will 100% make.

There are other veterans out there that could be had for much less than Trae Young would cost. Dillingham is a defensive zero.

If okc is willing to trade up for someone not named Sarr, I hope it’s Risacher over Cody. I like his frame better to survive at the 4

I think Risacher is gone by the 4th pick. A combo of Topic/Dillingham and Knecht/Williams would be more realistic. A Risacher + Topic/Dillingham haul would be the perfect scenario tho.

Everyone locking in Sarr is crazy. The dude is a big project offensively. Just because his shot looks good, doesn't mean it will be good. He's Myles Turner and is Myles Turner worth a #1? Hawks need on ball defense and shooting, Risacher is the better choice for the current roster

I think 💭 PORTLAND WOULD BE CRAZY to take Stephon Castle at no. 7 over Donovan Klingan of UConn. They are crowded at guard and small forward: Shardon Sharpe, Anfernee Simons, Scoot Henderson. Klingan can give you someone who PUSHES DeAndre Ayton in practice....and I think he will eventually take his starting spot due to hunger/impact.

Good luck, bad luck for the poor Hawks. To FINALLY get the first pick in the draft, BUT to get it in a draft where practically no one can confidently say which pick is the best choice. Ah well, one thing won't change. SOMEONE will pick early and get a dud, and SOMEONE (not necessarily someone else) will draft late (maybe even in the later rounds) nd get a stud. Pretty much happens every year.

I wanted Dalton Knecht to the Spurs if we were picking 3-6, I didnt think that would be a reach. I am very high on him, and I believe he is the most polished player coming out of this draft at 23 yrs old, all he has to work on is his D, but he has the motor for it. I feel he is a top 3 talent in this draft! BUT after getting Toronto's pick I do not see Charlotte drafting him based on their needs and if he lands in the Spurs No8 spot its the steal of the lottery. He could very well be the best player in the draft.

Wizards should try to use that 2nd pick + jordan poole, kuzma or other role players to get an all star caliber player and just build around him.

If the Hawks Pick Sarr number 1, he's going to have to seriously put on some muscle. I don't know if they will pick him or Donovan Clingan but that's the only two people who they should draft for the next starting center, trade Capela and keep Okongwu for the first starter position and groom the rookie. They probably won't trade Trae Young, but who knows

Pistons losing doesn’t get rewarded. Make some moves, fight for the play in spot and see if the ball bounces our way when we try winning.

I don't know but it is time to spend some of the money and bring in some guys that are "win now" dudes. I am not saying break the bank for Paul George, but I am saying some vets that all star level players to help the Pistons make the next job. The east is so soft, Indiana isn't that good and they are two wins away from the ECF. Some players like Brunson, budding all stars, grab one and best case scenario make a jump like Orlando and worse case scenario a jump like Houston. The Monty hiring... looks really bad.

@@maxjulianthegreat313 my logic is they haven’t had good luck with the bouncing ball so spending some money in some free agents to help move this thing forward instead of relying only on the draft is a good idea. Fed Van Fleet helped Houston jump forward, but the magic have done it just with drafting. The hit that 1 pick and did very well with later picks, so regardless of where you pick there are players that can help, but spending money on a young all star coming into their prime would be nice. I guess the question is who? Not a lot of players like that floating around. Miles might be an option. Certainly buy low time right now for a potential 25 PPG guy

Was spot on until you got to Matas Buzelis. Pistons lack a shooter/scorer. Matas is not that. But if they're going off of "what could be" potential, then they can swing for him, otherwise Dalton Knetch is their man or if Reed Shepard hasn't gone to Houston then they'll take him first. My two cents observation.

This is not a draft that you should be packaging picks for 1 pick even if it was for number 1. I bet the wizards would not hesitate if Spurs offered 4 and 8 in exchange for 2. the difference in talent between 2nd and 8th is minimal. Gms are saying that in a normal draft Sarr who probabily will go number 1 will go 8th.

If Sheppard will develop into a PG, maybe the Spurs will pick him because of his 3pt shooting

The Wizards will not pick another PG. I've been watching them and they're genuinely impressed with what Poole did at the end of the season Jordan at PG. I watched the Pres. of Basketball Operations and GM's season exit interviews and they said they can't afford to have too many players who need the ball in their hands to be effective. They acknowledged that Poole needs the ball and they think he's good. Not to mention they did trade to get Poole last year and he has 3 yrs left on his contract at 90 million. He going nowhere anytime soon and you don't want to draft a lottery pick who has to fight for minutes. With Kyle Kuzma being too old to fit their timeline they'll look to move him on so I think Risacher will be the pick. He's got OKC written all over him.
