2024 NBA Mock Draft 4.0: BucketMedia (1-14)

Спорт

In this video, I put out my fourth installment of the 2024 NBA Mock Draft and will only go through picks 1 through 14…
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We are about 3 months away from the 2024 NBA Draft and since my last mock draft a lot has changed. There have been guys who shot up the board that came out of nowhere into my top 6 like Rob Dillingham and Reed Sheppard while coincidently teammates like DJ Wagner and Justin Edwards have fallen off my board completely. Upperclassmen like Dalton Knecht and Devin Carter have played their ways into the later part of the lottery after having quality seasons so far and have all of March to further boost their stocks. Pros like Ron Holland and Alex Sarr have maintained their positions at the top of the draft while everything is still wide open and up for grabs. While there still is a lot that could happen, this is my 4th 2024 mock draft.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I feel like Buzelis has the dog. His words about Risacher playing him 1v1 and the way he took it to Brandon Miller during the Rising Stars have me convinced. Just seems like he's got that Larry Bird "I'm going to show you better than I can tell you"

I just don't get these Nikola Topic comps to SGA. He's not nearly as quick or athletic as Shai or as good defensively. He's got tall Goran Dragic written all over him. And that's not even a bad thing Dragic was a really nice player and had a long career.

@@dillamadukes21 , true but he did have some years he was inconsistent. I'm not saying it's a perfect comparison but it's definitely better than SGA. Plus he could end up improving as a shooter whereas I don't think he'll ever be as athletic as SGA and he's got a crafty style to his game like Dragic

How does Portland not end up with the number five pick? On what are you basing these pick positions? And Knecht plays for Tennessee, not Kentucky. It is also unlikely Portland will select a guard.

Spurs at 3 and 8 is nice! I'd take Risacher, Sarr or Topic first. I'd like Buzelis or Willams at 8 if we pick Topic. If we get Risacher or Sarr first then we can take one of the good guards that are all through this draft. Good chance Spurs will get 2 top 7 or 8 picks. All these combinations are very possible and Very exciting: Topic/Buzelis Risacher/Dillingham Sarr/Collier Risacher/Jakobe Sarr/Sheppard

I’m taking Terrence Shannon jr if I’m top 10 as long as I can find out something that makes it look like he won’t be found guilty. Dude is the best college guard I’ve seen play in a long time. He reminds me of like a lefty more shoot first John Wall with a better shot lol. He’s so elite

Topic and Sheppard are mid to late 1st rd picks, not lottery picks. Why would I take a smallish, below average athletic, bench player in the lotto. That’s a unimaginative pick when there are plus sized wings available to gamble on instead.

On the stat sheet it doesn’t show it a lot but Anton Watson deserves a draft pick imo even if it’s second round. There’s not a game where he doesn’t showcase elite defending. He leads GU in deflection. And he blocks a lot of shots. Plus he is over 40% from 3 this year.

Ron Holland will likely go to the Detroit Pistons. He is physically and athletically ready for the NBA, and he has a coveted playmaking/ shot making and two-way play, great motor, and great positional size that will demand attention from scouts and dare to pass on his potential. His shooting is overblown as he has great form and touch just bad shot selection. The Pistons desperately need positional depth on the wing behind Ausar Thompson and Holland would be instant production off the bench.

Gotta wonder. Two Kentucky players get drafted before the first Connecticut player is chosen? Did I hear that right? If so, how did Kentucky have such a lower level team than Connecticut? TWO players in the top six? Shouldn't that lead to a deep run into the tournament? Maybe this is right. . . but I suspect that at least one of the Kentucky players will fail to live up to his high draft position.

The top 3 teams picking each have a 14.3% chance of getting the number 1 pick. So how it, that they always have San Antonio picking number 3? Washington/Detroit/San Antonio are weighted even for a top 3 pick. So let's say San Antonio wins the lottery once again and Washington moves to number 4, Portland moves to number 2 and Detroit get the 3rd pick. Possible?

Spurs will not choose rob. Selecting a small guard subtracts from victors height advantage. An oversized guard makes their whole starting 5 oversized which is the obvious play

This is an idiotic take. The best guards of the last 20 years have been 6'3 and under. The spurs need perimeter scoring and play making. Rob has those qualities in abundance.
