Great stuff Brian. Getting Dave Coleman on your channel plus doing a 2024 video review with the soft top BBR option ( even though you don't love the Recarro seats ) was really interesting on those canyon roads ! I think these changes have got me to move off the fence & sell the 2016 MX-5 soft top with the Brembo / BBS wheels. Going to the Mazda dealer to talk. 😎

My earliest recollections of Dave Coleman were in my mid-late teens in the mid 90s. Used to search the store shelves for the latest copy of Sport Compact Car every month, until I got my own subscription for years. The technical and editorial style between Dave, Josh J and Mike Kojima featuring exhaustive dyno based product comparisons, realistic project cars and intelligent, informative, humorous articles (The Dave Point/Angle) were the pinnacle of automotive journalism to me. Also can't forget Dave basically starting the (rattle can) flat black paint job that began the diy and later, the OEM trend. Glad to see him doing well decades later (time really lays rubber!) and still hanging with Mazda!👍

Some of this is well over my head, but some interesting points. First of all, the fact that this is an "old car" means they know it extremely well, and can continue to sweat and refine details to make it even better. The fact that they care enough to sweat the details and continue to refine is impressive. Not sure how many other car makers are this fastidious.
