    In January of 2022 We got a Hyundai Tucson 2022 basic package and couldn’t regret it more. Entertainment system will turn off out of nowhere and just blackout, sometimes it would not connect to my IPhone at all until I stop and shutdown the engine. We went through lemon law and they decided it was not a reason to do a buy back. Also, the handles started peeling since like the 2nd month of use. And they didn’t do anything about it either. We stayed 2 years with it. This year we went car shopping and finally got a Mazda CX-5 Turbo Premium 2024 is working great until now but we have had it for 1 month only, so will see how good it is. And price difference was around $10k

    Hyundai with 2wd gets same mileage as Mazda AWD. Hyundai requires additional cost for AWD. Hyundai materials look good, but the actual feel of them is several grades below Mazda. I went with the CX-5. Bonus for me was the no massive distraction touchscreen. Only took a couple days to learn to use the controls without looking

    I drove both car. For me both look great. I own 23 tucson limited AWD and my girlfriend has 2022 CX-5 Signature. I like space and features in tucson(rear seats recline and full panoramic sunroof). CX-5 loose acceleration sometimes going uphill is while on cruise control. Steering on CX-5 is heavy but tucson feels heavy to drive. What I like more about CX-5 is that it feels stable and well planted on highway speed while on tucson it takes efforts to keep car in a lane.

    not supposed to use cruise control on hilly terrain, but how can you be happy with the Tucson? its horrible acceleration even though they have a similar 2.5 engine

    We test drove both of these cars and chose the Mazda. It's more of a premium slightly more analogue in a good wa and reliable and premium SUV. The Hyundai has the flashier screens but it seems like it's a cheap digital version that won't last long and be outdated in 2 minutes. Also, how do you use the Hyundai screen when you've got gloves on? It's dangerous driving down the road trying to click all the menus. The Mazda has an analogue navigator. Much more user friendly and safer

    One is notorious engine blowing up and burns, the other one is more reliable. I choose Mazda. Hyundai has extremely engine failures

    Their engines don't blow up, but I had to replace 2 EGR valves. The 8-speed transmission needs a lot of fluid flushes every 45K to 50K miles, or else it slips. I had it since it had only 10 miles brand new until 160K miles when it was totaled in an accident, then Now I have had a Mazda for almost 2 months let's see my experiences.

    @@alejandromtb I'm a customer of their 1.6T hybrid and 2.0 engines. Used them for more than 100k miles. You are just a frustrsted customer of Hyundai. Take a chill pill bro. Your 2.5 engine fkd up but not the others. You have a proven issue and i have a prover reliability as 2 different examples.

    We looked at both of these in 2023.The Mazda interior was a lot better than the Hyundai, even with a higher end hybrid comparison. The gas mileage on the base engine for both was about the same. What sold us on the Mazda not mentioned here is the reliability. The Mazda uses the tried-and-true Skyactive high compression engine built since 2012 which is very reliable for 200,000 miles. The Hyundai uses the notorious Theta II engine which you can see reports all over the internet and KZread failing after 100,000 miles. So in the end it is a no brainer - you want a nicer car on the inside that will last twice as long, buy the Mazda. Want the fancier electronics and an engine that has a good chance of dying at 100,000 miles get the Hyndavi. We bought Mazda.

    I test drove both of these cars today. I had my heart set on the CX-5. I wanted so badly to love it but just couldn’t. I was so surprised after all of the glowing reviews I’ve read. The driver’s cabin is cramped and uncomfortable. I couldn’t find a comfortable driving position even with the adjustable power seats. I’m 5’1” and the seat bottom was too long for my legs. As a result I had to push the seat forward further than I would’ve liked, adding to the cramped feel. The seat also doesn’t tilt forward making it impossible for me to keep my heel on the ground when my foot is on the gas/brake pedal. Speaking of the gas pedal, it is incredibly stiff and requires more muscle to depress than it should. The steering is stiff as well. Yeah, the car has zoom-zoom, but driving it felt like work. The driver’s center console is useless as it’s low and too far back to be used as an armrest. The backseat has virtually no legroom, even for me! I don’t know what this guy is talking about.😂 I did drive the CX 50 to compare and despite bottom of the drivers seat being hard and flat, It felt much more spacious and comfortable overall. The Hyundai Tucson driver seat felt luxuriously plush in comparison. I didn’t love the giant touchscreen as I prefer some knobs and buttons. The steering wheel has an odd noticeable edge if you hold it at eight and four like i do. Not a dealbreaker. It was pleasant to drive, nothing bad to say about it. It had more of a family car feel.

    I like Mazda, but the Tucson is quite simply more premium than the CX5. Also, with a much longer wheelbase, it makes better use of the interior room and it’s very noticeable.

    DONT BUY HYUNDAI ENGINE BURNS OIL

  • @alejandromtb

    @alejandromtb

    You are right and Hyundai-KIA does not matter about the engine knocking in every single engine they made when I use regular gas, which destroys the engine, the oil change has to be made before the 4000 miles because of oil consumption. And the owners don't know anything about the 8-speed transmission until they reach the 80K mi. Coming and trusting on KIA-Hyundai in the last 9 years when they were "affordable", now I went with Mazda CX-5 Carbon Edition because, for $34K, you can't buy anything comparable to this Japanese car in the Korean made in American car.

    The CX-5 design is very tired inside and out, and really doesn’t offer much for the price tag. If you want to go with a new Mazda, hold out for the third generation iteration which is speculated to be renamed the CX-40. You have to hunt for the real images, but it looks like it’s going to be 🔥🔥

    There is no question that Mazda makes nice vehicles. Based purely on aesthetics though, the Tucson is simply more impressive inside and out.
