I haven't heard about a 3rd generation yet or when it might happen. 2025 is a possibility, but if they don't announce it by the end if summer, they aren't updating it. They just released the CX-70 for 2025 so I wouldn't expect a redesign before 2026
Actually the CX-50 is the more sporty option.. It is lower with a wider stance and has more sporty aesthetics

cx 50 is marketed as "offroad" cx 5 is marketed for sporty in that its supposed to be on road and its faster

You are correct! I prefer the looks of the cx-50, but the cx-5 is definitely more fun to drive!
