2024 Marketing Mastery: Boosting Business with Local Service Ads & More

In this informative video, we dive into the effective marketing strategies our company is employing in 2024 to drive growth and expand our business presence. We start with the fundamental necessity of having a well-optimized, content-rich website to ensure continuous improvement and enhanced visibility. We then explore our hands-on marketing approach, leveraging traditional methods such as door hangers, yard signs, and branded vehicle wraps to maximize local visibility during our projects. This strategy not only showcases our work on-site but also extends our presence in the neighborhood through direct and indirect advertising. Additionally, we emphasize the importance of personal engagement by knocking on doors when distributing door hangers, offering assistance and fostering a community connection. The highlight of our strategy focuses on digital marketing, with a significant investment in Google Local Service Ads. This platform has proven to be a game-changer for us, allowing precise targeting for landscaping projects while minimizing irrelevant inquiries. Our methodical approach to keyword optimization and ad spend has yielded an impressive return on investment, transforming our marketing efforts into a scalable, high-performance engine. We encourage businesses to explore similar strategies, especially Local Service Ads, for effective and cost-efficient marketing in 2024.

MY STORY:
I am the CEO of Scooter's Lawn Care, Inc.: an award-winning lawn care, landscaping, and home service company with locations in central Illinois and southwest Florida.
I help others scale their lives, relationships & businesses on KZread, on the GROW by Design podcast, in 1:1 coaching calls, and in my coaching group GROW Comm.
I first started my lawn care business part-time in 2014, while working full-time in the autobody industry. In 2015, I quit my job (with a pregnant fiancee) and risked everything to go full-time.
By 2019, Scooter's Lawn Care, Inc. was an award-winning, seven-figure company in Springfield, Illinois.
In 2021, I once again started from the ground up with a second location expansion in Cape Coral, Florida. By month three, my team was hitting $50,000/mo in revenue - climbing up on $100,000/mo before the first year's end. In under two years, my second location was selling over $200,000 in lawn care & landscaping services each month.
I share the wins and losses in our business journey - along with proven strategies to scale - on KZread to help others grow.
I coach others during 1:1 calls (bit.ly/3sczUgN) and in my private coaching group, GROW Comm.

We have had Google local service ads running for over 4 years here in Michigan and it is definitely smart to keep the mowing off unless you are looking for a lot of one time lawn cut jobs or you have super competitive pricing with the market.

I just signed up for Google local service. I was hoping to get more weekly mowing this year. Do you feel it’s more one time cuts on there?

It’s a mixture of both. It will be about 70% regular mow service, 30% one time cut calls. You are charged for both. If your price is competitive with the market it will work well. If you are on the high end on pricing, it won’t work well.

We use it for a landscaping sales tool. I do feel like as mentioned above if your high priced for mowing service it may be more of a struggle. For you have any other higher ticket services you could use it with?

@@JacobGodar Jacob is right that’s the best return on your dollar. Turn LSA on in a city or cities that have a family medium income of $100k plus and sell a higher ticket item like landscaping/hardscaping. Also, vet them over the phone with a minimum price you are willing to do work for before heading out. Then get to them quickly with an estimate and it’s a beautiful thing.
