    How's bike so far,any problems. I'm looking to purchase a T7 or the 790. I hear about the issues and it scares me.

    I look forward to seeing the longer term mileage of those Tusk tires. Hope to have a new option for heavier ADV.

    It’s a pity the Tusk tires are probably the most expensive tire to buy in Australia because of the freight and exchange rates. When will RMATV get a Oz distribution?

    Tusk tires have been awesome for me. But they are awesome because they are cheap. But with that said, a Donlop and a perelli are just as good minus the cost.

    Hey Dork, appreciate your channel and all that, but you just cost me some serious money buddy:) Your enthusiasm on the test ride of the new 790 got the best of me. The good news is that so far I really like the bike with the complete Tech pack and heated grips. This is my sixth KTM bike, no serious issues with any of them and I hope this one isn’t any different. Continue being Excellent.

    Hi Ben- Good move on the 790 (KZread biz-wise and personally). Just picked one up in March, based in large part on how big your smile and loud your laughs were on your test ride. Looking forward to the first ride video. Can you please tell me what windscreen deflector your using? Also, what brand is the heat shield on the exhaust? Thank you for all your work giving (old?) dorks enough confidence to become skilled adventure riders. All the best.

    All covered in next week's first ride video but it's the Puig windscreen deflector (get a medium the large is too big) and the tusk heat shield.

    I know the 2019 790’s had problems with soft heat treatment on the cams that led to excessive wear and catastrophic engine failure. Is that problem solved in the new 790 or is it still a concern? I love the bike for performance and ergonomics but I’m very hesitant to trust the motor and that’s forcing me to lean towards the dead reliable T7 instead. Thoughts?

    How do you compare to AX41 or Motox Rallz? - Btw curious about your impression of 790, which turns out real surprise on on-road (rally mapping is fun despite its on/off character) and decent on mellow off-road.

    Better make sure that unreliable 790 doesn't just roll off the edge of the mountain. I've heard of them doing that when they won't start.... Also they are so expensive that only BILLIONAIRES can afford them.

    Nice bike... serious question, why do these manufacturers of the bigger adventure bikes hang the front fender so close to front tire? I think it looks like crap not to mention, what happens when you're in sticky mud situations?

  • @michiganmoto7687

    @michiganmoto7687

    Well mostly because it’s an adventure touring bike first and foremost. Most people that buy it will mainly stick to pavement and easy gravel/two-track roads. The low fender is less wind resistance and makes better on road performance. There are high fender kits available for those wanting the more off-road look or the few who will seriously use it in tougher off road applications. Manufacturers cater to the masses not the niche buyers.

    @@michiganmoto7687 point taken... well, except for the aerodynamics of a fender, these aren't high speed bikes. Still think it looks like crap... just my two cents.

    I don't think you really need much speed for a high fender to be noticeably worse on road. On my klr I noticed the front end getting pulled all over the place in high winds at anything over 55. My t7 with a low fender can carry 80mph in the same wind and feel dead stable. Living in the dry south western US, I don't tend to run into much mud, so the low fender doesn't worry me much.
