    @@V_C-Rsurprisingly no issues other than a few bad charging stalls but switching to a different stall fixed the issue. Did come across an EQS that couldn't unplug.

    Bought full op GT on June 7th. Already drove 5200km; yesterday 1300 from Southern Greece to Romania, 36 Celsius outside. No issues, comfortable, fast enough, peak charging at 214Kwh. Great car! In Europe price is unbeatable, only comparable is Volvo EX90 but smaller 3rd row. Materials inside Volvo are more upscale but with small kids that is a downside for me. EV9 ride is a bit unsettled on bad roads but after few rides becomes natural. Is my fist electric car. I come from Mercedes and VW, is comparable in all aspects. Metal on the outside is a bit thin, got hit by hailstones twice in first week and got some dents. Wife BMW got less dents. But I get it, is for saving weight and I pay insurance anyway. I use first 15 second after starting the car to disable attention warning, lane safety (only because of bad road markings) and speed warning (annoying but mandatory in EU). Speed warning is especially annoying since multiple lanes roads might have different speed limits and the system cannot differentiate. Anyway, takes 10-15 seconds and all new cars have this. BMW iX drives better, is slightly more comfortable and costs 50.000 euro more for less space. Volvo is closest and “only” costs 23.000 euro more.

    I have owned EV9 (same spec as per video, but matt colour) in Finland for 6 months now. Agree on almost everything you highlighted. The HVAC location is fine by me. I only control temperature now and then and AUTO level (2 or 3). The climate works very well. No need to interfere with it. The second and third raw ceiling vents have a secret feature. If you rotate the bazzel, you can enable or disable ambient air distribution. This is very useful if you do not wish to feel cold air blowing directly into you. I don't like lack of ambient lightning in the cupholders area. It is also noisy (no soft padding). Got my front wheel hit 2 months ago. Now, I need to replace the support bearing, which comes with many other components. Waiting time is 2 months :) Under insurance, but the waiting time is OMG. My first KIA (I never thought I would buy one), but I like it every single time I drive it. Did 10000 km so far, and my average consumption is 26 kWh/100km so far (2.4 miles/kWh). Winter time is 2 miles/kWh, summer time is 3 miles/kWh. When doing 85 miles/hour on a highway, consumption is 2.2 miles/kWh. It is a shame you guys don't get electrically controlled 3rd row. However, we do not have digital grill in Finland. I can't wait to get Spotify and KZread on EV9.

    For me the Wind trim is the sweet spot for features and price. I much prefer the flat black wheel well trim as opposed to the gloss black. It also has a bench seat that is manually adjusted, which is faster than the motorized one. I’m not a big fan of the scroll knob for volume on the dash, it’s form over function in my opinion. 100 % of the reviews of this car criticize the climate control that is blocked by the steering wheel and praise the head rests, which doesn’t usually come up for other cars. I’d definitely want to buy this since its got some big discounts at my local dealership, and it checks all my boxes (except NACS connector), but it’s just a lot bigger than I need.

    I was always scared to do it with my EV6. But now I have discovered that ABRP with the OBD dongle connection is much better than the built-in nav at predicting arrival SoC. So now I don't feel the need to leave as much buffer.

    Love the EV9. My wife's next car requires the memory seat function so I have two years to convince her of an affordable EV SUV (doesn't have to be 3 rows). She currently is leasing a 2023 sportage and she loves it. A super low mileage lease of a 2 row EV SUV would be perfect for her so hopefully there's something coming to accommodate

    We love ours! The HDA2 tho, its scary bc it will cut off in a heartbeat and wont give you any audio clue that it has. It’ll just stop steering and its nuts. When it works, its great, but we dont trust it anymore after it has done that a few times and we’ve seen other reviewers and heard from other owners the same. I dont know how they aren’t required by law to clearly indicate visually and audibly, when these systems shut themselves off. Other than that, the car has just been amazing. We use the extra space for dogs and their carrier, as we only have one child, so the 3rd row gets almost no use. We use every inch of that storage space back there tho. This vehicle hits way above it’s weight class! It may be really expensive for a Kia, but very cheap compared to the other 3 row electric SUVs and is just as nice, if not nicer than them.

    Unfortunately the EV 5 is not coming to the US any time soon. The EV 3 might be her next year. If the EV 5 came here it would probably be the one I’d choose. As it is, I’ll keep waiting for the 2025 Ioniq 5.

    tesla model y seven seater is $52,000 with a range of over 300 miles. (plus its eligible for the 7,500 tax credit!) we have owned our ioniq 5 for two and a half years (one of the first American owners)! we have also have owned our model y seven seater for over a year. As a father of three kids the third row is a game changer. Those third rows r certainly big enough for kids. But someone needs to make a fully electric minivan for under 50k. but i would consider exchanging our ioniq 5 for the ev9. Keep up the good work Corbin and if ur ever around the jfk airport area and want to review our cars it would be our pleasure!

    The small EV6? 🤣 EV6 is not a small car! EV5 is actually smaller than EV6 (as its name confirms). EV6 has limited vertical space, but is super spacious in all other respects. Remember that the wheelbase on an EV6 is 3 meters long, just like a Telluride…

  • @TheIoniqGuy

    It depends how you want to measure it. The EV5 is also almost 8 inches taller than EV6 which likely leads to a lot more interior volume.

  • @volcalstone

    @volcalstone

    12 күн бұрын

    @@TheIoniqGuyThe EV5 might be taller but I believe the EV6 is wider. The EV6 is more of a sporty SUV so it's not as tall by design. Most people will go with the upcoming EV5 tho due to the design and price. The EV6 is called a compact but the size inside is closer to a mid-size sedan like the Accord with its crazy legroom. The Accord is actually closer to the Avalon than the Camry.

    @@GraysonA yeah I knew this and there why it will be cheaper. It's meant more for city life if anything as I would not get that for long traveling. Short 2-3 hour trips one way then charge at your destination would be fine though. I personally have an EV6 GT and on long trips the super fast charging helps a lot especially when I'm pulling in at 2% due to the short range. 😁 I always make sure there is an emergency charging spot tho just in case I don't have enough delta difference. I could drive for 3 hours at 75 mph so I'm good. That's a good time for a break anyways. It's just a longer break that's all vs using my prior ICE car that I could drive for 5.5 hours straight if I don't stop. It doesn't do 0-60 mph in 3.2 seconds tho so I could deal with the shorter range. If I was traveling more then I think I would've went with the standard model instead.
