2024 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 - This Makes NO Sense, But I Love It

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

In this video, I review the 2024 Jeep Wrangler 392! This thing is insane!
One thing I forgot to mention in the video is that for 2024 the 392 now has a full float rear axle, whereas the 23's had a semi floating rear axle.. I don't think that many people rear the description tho..

    I purchased mine because of the sound from the exhaust as well. The sound is awesome. And yes it will never go off road, not even gravel. My neighborhood is filled with EVs, ( dangerous, you can't hear them speeding). They are not happy with my new jeep Rubicon 392, but they can hear me. 😉

    Jeep Wrangler Rubicon's just keep getting better and better. Just add a nice winch, remove the front bumper ends and hit the trail for some fun. Love the grille painted to match the body. Body paint on the main fender flares sure show scratches, cracks, etc. The outside rear view mirrors need to be moved to the cowl area with aftermarket brackets so you can take the doors off. The rear window wiper is almost useless with that big tire blocking most of the glass. A hydraulic pressurized cylinder would be nice to hold the rear door open. The red seats are sharp. The price is very high for what you get, but you will have a hard time beating it off road. The one vehicle that can challenge this Rubicon is the Ford Bronco Raptor. Drive one and the Raptor will pop your eyes open! Thanks for the review!

    Hey Martin! I agree.. The 392 is sick, and I'd love to get one (even if it means I only keep it a few months). But I don't that is in the cards quite yet. I agree, definitely needs something to hold the rear door.. I'm going to reach out to Stellantis to see if I can get a press car 392 for a week.. We'll see how that goes..

    Amazing review. Here are couple of things I wish Jeep did. 1. Half doors from the factory like Ford Bronco, so when you remove the doors, you don't have those awkward doors. 2. The rear door of the Jeep wrangler and gladiator is too short. For bigger people like me, I am having a very difficult time getting in and out. Wish it was like 4 - 6 inches longer. 3. Paint the roof black and or cover it with the black fabric. Or at least have an option from the factory. 4. Offer V8 Hemi with Gladiator Mojave. That would be amazing. 5. Make roof fold into pieces so that you can store it away in the trunk. Specially with the gladiator.

    Yeah, the 2nd row doors are a little short. I noticed that and I'm only 5'9. V8 Gladiator would be sweet, I just don't know if that is something Jeep would actually do. But who knows - they put the 392 in the Wrangler and people love it!

    The new Wrangler is a dream come true. It is beautiful, the color, the interior, gorgeous. The sound reminds me of my neighbor's 2023 Challenger SRT Hellcat. When he starts that car, the ground shakes beneath your feet. I would love a Wrangler, but I wish they would offer an Independent Front Suspension for those of us who don't go hard-core off-roading, or off-roading altogether. I have a co-worker whose wife won't drive anything but a Wrangler, she leases it so gets a new one every three years. Their last three wranglers never saw a dirt/gravel road and the new one never will as well. Her new one, 2023 is a 4xe in Bright White/Black-Saddle Interior with the Power Sky Roof, and it is beautiful. I noticed it is much quieter on the road than their 2020 model Rubicon.

    Almost no way the 392 will be available in its current form in 2026. I'll be surprised if 2024 isn't the last year for the Hemi. They may keep the namesake and start putting in one of their other high output engines, but if you want the 6.4L V8 either get it now or wait for the used market.

    I'm always so conflicted with these videos. Love hearing you wring it out, but at the same time I'm familiar with the insanely strict break-in on these and seeing 30 miles on the odometer gives me anxiety lol.

  • @703Speed

    @703Speed

    11 ай бұрын

    I’ve heard conflicting info with the break in process. Some engineers are firm believers in not revving it over 3500, some believe you want to push it hard to seat the rings. I tried to stay below 4500. It’s funny because if I don’t open it up a little people will say the video was pointless, but if I open it up people say I’m pushing it. Can’t win on the Internet lol

  • @geoff.graham

    @geoff.graham

    11 ай бұрын

    @@703Speed yeah it's even more involved for these. First 100 miles is below 3,500 rpm and 50 mph, 100-300 miles is below 5,000 rpm and 70 mph, after that the restrictions start lifting but there are more intricate directions about 1st through 3rd gear, manual shifting, etc, etc. Seating the rings is one piece of it, but I think some of the speed restrictions are also about all the gears in the transfer case, front and rear diffs, etc. Lots of reduction gears to run-in. I agree it's a tough spot to be on the internet lol. I certainly enjoyed hearing the sounds at the upper rev ranges 😛

    The floating rear axle and the factory winch option is great but the rest of this vehicle is excessive and too complicated. Full time all-wheel drive for instance has a clutch driven transfer case (don't brake torque it). The 5.7L Hemi V8 has cylinder deactivation. Too heavy, too much luxury, too many things to go wrong. I guess this is a great halo vehicle but who's going to actually take it off-road? That said you did a great review.

    I take mine off road every week and I tow a modified off-road teardrop trailer I installed a 4 1/2 inch lift kit custom drive shafts 39 inch tires and I use the heck out of my 392 that’s what I bought it for, I love going up to the mountains I was up there yesterday, I average off road just to get into the areas I want to go Round-trip minimum 162 miles of river crossing creek crossings old logging roads forestry roads etc. so I am one of those people that use my 392 hard-core, I feel the 392 is very reliable, jeep has paid its dues, they’ve done an excellent job on the 392, for modern technology, the tech in this vehicle is pretty minimal, I was fortunate with my dealer to get it at sticker price before the prices went through the roof, but I totally recommend the vehicle, just remember one thing going off routing bring some extra fuel because it’s hard to keep your foot out of the pedal !!!

    The 392 jeep is faster and quicker then the bronco raptor too. Bronco will handle much better because of the longer wheel base and then IFS. Where the Jeep has solid diff. It is a nice truck, but if i were to nit pick here, it would be the following issues: 1. Having an almost 100k vehicle with a $5 manual hood prop rod is not a good look. Hydrolic lift would have been much nicer, especially when you're trying to show off the 6.4 Hemi 2. Bronze accents make no sense. Bronze matches nothing on the vehicle. Red accents would have been better and would have matched the red seats that are on most 392s. 3. Not crazy about the rims. Optional wheel choices would be nice. Other than that, it looks like a nice jeep.

    True! I just did a video literally yesterday of a 2024 X5 M60i and it was very nice! MSRP on that was right at $95k... It's all about what you're looking for. I think a (relatively) fair MSRP for this would be somewhere in the $75-85k price range

    it's a 392! Enough said! .. personally the front grill should've stayed with the renegade.. it's awful! Should've kept the imposing JK grill.. Infotainment screen, any bigger, longer and it'll go out the passenger side... crap. It's a 4wd not a saloon car.., or.. the Wrangler is starting loosing it's identity..?! Power seats? It's a 4wd, leather is bad enough... adding more electronic bull craps to the list is bad enough... more things to go wrong... Basic electronics (we can't escape from them these days..), Dana 60, roll cage... less saloon car... which the Rubicon should not be! err.. it is not! a car!

    Electric seats, red interior is 2024 NOT 2023. Not sure you're aware, 475hp in 2024 as well. Computer is serious 5 now as well with 12in screen. Free flat rear axel. Research the vehicle before you review.
