2024 Jayco All-Terrain Off Road Caravan Walk Through
Introducing a new model for 2024, the 16 foot All Terrain caravan with dual axles. It looks staunch from the outside, but is packed with luxury on the inside. Built here in Australia in the Jayco factory in Melbourne, this van suits a couple who are serious about their off grid caravanning.
Check it out on the website:
www.jaycocanberra.com.au/stoc...
It comes with the Do35 off road hitch, stone guard, checker plated lower body, 29.5 inch all terrain tyres and heavy rubber flaps to protect wiring and plumbing underneath the van. The large tunnel boot and draw bar storage box combined with dual jerry can holders and a bike rack allow for plenty of outside storage.
The van is powered by a 240ah Lithium battery, 600 watts of solar panels, a DC to DC charger and a battery management system with touch screen display.
Inside it has leatherette, upgraded mattress, Sirocco fans over the bed, smart TV, fridge and freezer, gas heater, air con, full ensuite with separate shower and toilet and a washing machine.

It's great to see Jayco are progressing forward with off-road and couples only vans. Hopefully they bring a series of around 19'-20' for full-time travelling with extra storage. Great video mate. Dane is very passionate about his job and I've got a lot of time for him. He's a genuine and great young bloke 👌

Dane was a great host! Very impressed with that van.
Very nicely setup van to get you off road and off grid.Nice dual setup which gives you a better ride and a descent payload.I’m impressed with the van and very impressed with Dane’s knowledge and van handover presentation.Cheers,Rob.

Dane knows his stuff. Yeah it's an impressive van, love the dual axle on a 16ft. Thanks for commenting Rob.
Reminds me of the Black Series Trailers - to new to tell how well built these are. Too heavy and long for tight maneuvering off-road for me. They do look nice. We’re very happy with our 2021 Off Grid Trailer for very remote desert exploring.
I wish Jayco would offer these in the States… they are way behind the curve in the US.

@DavidPendleton-v4s the price is listed on the Jayco Australia website. Got to: Our Range-> Caravans -> All Terrain then scroll down to where it lists the floor plans.
Very similar to my MY18 JJOB 19.61-2. many of the fittings are identical. Even the weights are similar.

Jayco will do well with a variety of colours. They need to play catch up now.

Wish these were available in the US. Palomino Pause are nice trailers, but guessing this is priced better since not everyone needs a hardcore off-roader like the Pause.

Unfortunately Jayco US and Jayco Aust are completely seperate companies.
If my Tacoma can tow it I would consider this trailer.

If I didn't have kids, I'd consider it too.
Why is there no 2000W or 3000w inverter for the use of 240v appliances off grid?
@OutdoorsCBR
23 күн бұрын
Do u need 240v? You need to go aftermarket. The van that is next level up, the Off Grid X, has 3000w Inverter included.
The Jack looked a bit small for that sized van. But I’m sure they wouldn’t sell something that couldn’t handle a flat tire.
@OutdoorsCBR

Its the same jack in many models.
Thought would have higher payload for a 16' twin axel plus no inverter??
@OutdoorsCBR

Have to add that yourself.
Hard to hear in the video... Is that slide out in the front exterior diamond plate storage box for a generator?
@OutdoorsCBR
15 күн бұрын
Yeah, intended for a generator. But could hold an external fridge/freezer.

Corner the market. Start building pods for nps 300. And others. Make it an available option to add or design per customer order. Composit builds, of course. I have an idea. I want a single recliner chair. Natural edge timber tops ( kitchen ) no kitchen table. 48 v air con and all victron gear.

What is the towing weight?
@OutdoorsCBR
10 күн бұрын
That depends on how much you are carrying in the van. Somewhere between 2337 and 2934kg. You could bet on 2x 90L (180kg) water tanks, 2x 20L (40kg) jerry cans, 60kgs+ of belongings, 30kg of bikes on the back. Do the maths.
Looks good but how much?? 🤔

Push knob gas heater control right at the end of the bed at mattress height is unlikely to be accidentally pressed 🤦♂️

Just me or have they underpowered the battery bank ? Is there even room for a second.
@OutdoorsCBR
22 күн бұрын
You might have missed it, but we point out the spot where you can add a second battery. 240ah lithium is plenty for 90% of people and charging would be super fast with 600w solar. We just travelled 3 months in QLD in a Jayco Journey with 200ah lithium, no worries. If you were to add a large inverter and start using electrical appliances off the batteries then you might consider a second battery if you were doing long stints off grid. All depends on usage and ability to recharge.
