Go start poking around a 80 grand tesla, ford, Chevy or dodge. More than just the dash will be creaking and popping lol. Pretty crazy a small manufacture can give you all of that value for 80k. Go try to price out what it would cost to resto an old defender to that level you might be touching cloth bud lol

@@timothyperry4559I specced a Defender 110 to about $83,000 before opting to go with the Ford Bronco Heritage which set me back $58,000 OTD. I previously had a 2006 Range Rover HSE which I bought certified preowned in 2007 and ran it for 135,000 miles which is why I was initially going to replace it with the Defender but I liked the look and off road capability of the Bronco more. I saw a Grenadier in green pull up next to me at a light this past week and it looked really cool.

Problem is the market, all cars are stupid expensive now. Actually at 71K its surprisingly competitive for what you get while being a small boutique brand. Today its not hard to find vehicles like a TRD Pro Sequoia going for 90K

I went to the dealer to see it today. Honestly, I'm digging it. I'd definitely buy one, but not with these ridiculous dealer mark-ups. I'll most likely stick with my original choice - 4RUNNER trd pro.

So having had two TRD Pro (5th Gens) let me tell you why I sold mine and kind of wrote off Toyota. First of all bad quality plastics and paints…. I had a cavalry blue and then an army green and the paints are far inferior say to a BMW type paint. Also the plastics on the rear bumper cover can be scratched with your fingernail. Also- don’t get me started on Toyota rust protection- truly terrible compared with German vehicles. This car is basically a BMW level paint and production - very reliable far better finishing than Toyota could dream of. Just my 10 cents and 10 years of Toyota ownership

If all else was equal, I'd really like to get the Grenadier. I loved the quality, the rugged look and the solid feel of it. Not sure how reliable that BMW power train will be, but straight 6s are solid. Not sure if I can swallow that 90K price though...

What i don’t like is the small screen for reverse camera , the BMW gear handle, rear seats not comfortable , No middle armrest , no push button , There is no handle to help the driver get into the car, unlike the passenger next to him

It is a B58 TU and he replaced the old electric water pump with a mechanical, have an oversized vacuum and power steering pumps. It also has been changed up to provide less HP and more torque, which should provide more longevity

I think that it's the only company that can offer an engine in mass production that has a transmission that is capable of going along with it. To me it's one of the best engines they could've put in it. It's the same engine as the new Supra. And so far... there isn't any issues with them at all! I know it's BMW... but it's the best BMW makes at the moment. What other engine would you put in there?

That's right. It's so good that Toyota ( the most reliable car brand) put it in their supra. And that car isn't seeming to have any issues yet.

Sadly I do not think it would fit in my garage as the opening to the garage is a little small. The only thing i do not really like is that key and the shifter. The key just looks old and outdated and that shifter just does not fit the vehicle, not really sure what they were thinking with that. I would consider getting one if I felt safe parking it outside but sadly the converter thieves and such have ruined that.

You're right about the shifter and key. The key doesn't bother me too much, but the shifter is weird. It's probably the only option they had. I don't think Ineos designed then shifter....

These look great as mall crawlers and parking lot curb flexin There Japanese supra team said it themselves.. buy the base level of the new supra and swap a 2j in them.. If I bought this m.i would LS swap it...

Just imagine in 20 years. I'm sure there will be kits to clean it up. But with the government stepping in and what not if could be an issue.

They could have been way better, the built quality isn't that good and with a price you pay for them it should be ways better. There are problems with the cars that are so easy to fix and you wonder why it's a problem in the first place. It's fun to drive with and you can make a nice car of it but it's not worth the amount of money you need to pay for it

This one was 100k. Most of that was markup. I'm interested to where the company is going to go from here. These are more of a "flex" than anything

The outside looks cool with the retro Land Rover look, but the interior is a hideous hodge-lodge of parts pulled from various part bins with no style continuity.

Yeah it's very interesting. Maybe they'll change it up when the next generation comes out. We'll see. I didn't find to be that bad. I can say that the quality was good. No squeaks or squeals.
