2024 Hyundai Santa Fe Review // Imposter Syndrome

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

The 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe ($33,950 USD starting, $40,999 CAD starting) is all new for 2024 and has a boxy design which aims to provide lots of interior space and exterior style. A hybrid option is coming soon, but for now the powerplant is a 2.5 L turbo 4 cylinder with 277 horsepower and 311 lb ft of torque. But how is it as a daily driver? And how does it compare to the competition? Thomas and James are excited to spend some time with the new Santa Fe. We hope you enjoy the episode! And then subscribe, silly.

A car I would have never have had a second thought about without a Throttle House video of it. I'll be honest, as a dad with the potential to have more than 1 child in the future this seems like a super reasonably priced 3 row seating SUV. It might not necessarily be the greatest looking vehicle ever but in my opinion it looks way nicer and more expensive than the previous Santa Fe models. Looking at it I'd have had no idea it was a Hyundai having never seen it before. Love the channel, definitely gives off OG Top Gear vibes, and love what ya'll are doing. Came for the Lotus content, stayed for the humor, entertainment, and excellent car content!

Throttle house, are best car reviewers ever. Even with folks like top gear paving the way, I would argue their charm and attitude make them the best in the last 20 years of car reviews. They make every review worth watching. Even when it's not a car I'm interested in. When there is a car I'm interested in, no matter who reviews it previously I anxiously wait to see if Thomas and James will give their view as I hold their opinion above all others. I excitedly wait to see what jokes and critical analysis they put together to both entertain and inform me. Thank you for everything you guys do. I hope you have many years of success and fortune ahead.

Off-Road Surprise As noted, select crossovers are showing some unexpected off-road prowess. My 2019 Santa Fe, for example, holds its own against friends Subarus in terms of ground clearance, Clarence and suspension. The AWD lock function even feels like it makes a difference. Throw on some good tires, and this thing could handle light off-roading like basic BLM (the Land Mgmt) camping or exploring backroads. I'm really digging the look of the rumored XRT version - fingers crossed it becomes a solid reality with options. On-Road Champion Of course, these SUVs truly shine on pavement. The current "Smart Sense" suite, with its adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist, is arguably up there with the very best in the industry. The technology simply works flawlessly on mine. These comfortable cruisers are also surprisingly rugged.

I got a ride in a Hyundai SUV a few years ago, infact its quite a few years ago now... it surprised me, pretty sure it had proper 4wd and lockers, atleast rear and central... and 220 hp diesel, it was pretty cool, it was just a short go around the neighborhood, it was pretty much brand new, looked amazing too, quite the opposite to this design, swooping looking thing, I liked it! And I as surprised by the power, I maybe had expected 150 - 170 hp, and being diesel it had the torque wave, very nice! And it was big!

I respect Kia and Hyundai trying to move up market, but they have a dark history of reliability and build quality issues to overcome before I'll be willing to trust that they're "killing it". The ignition column/key issues that were bad enough to become a viral trend are just the tip of the iceberg. I wish them the best but I think many consumers aren't ready to trust them

I think it's also important to realize how much the two companies have changed in the past decade. It takes a while to turn around product design, but I think they're on the right track. Just need more time to make sure of it, though. Kia / Hyundai EVs are probably my favorite on the market right now, and my parents own two Hyundais that they love, but they've also had to replace an engine in a Tuscon at 45K miles (they no longer have that vehicle that drank oil). It's very hit or miss, but it helps we aren't in a big enough community for the Kia Boyz too...
