🇩🇴👋I live in the Dominican Republic, in the eastern part of the country, which is the most touristy part, my province, which is Altagracia, we only depend on tourism, both local and foreign, and if Isaac's forecast about a direct impact on the Dominican Republic will truly be devastating and it would take us a while to recover if the hurricane hits

I loved the animation and poor East Coast of Florida, that would be devastating if that happens. One thing about PTC's (Potential Tropical Cyclone). These advisories are only issued when an area of interest has a high change of formation, while it's forecast to affect any land areas. So authorities can issue watches and/or warnings when land impacts of a tropical cyclone are forecast. PTC is not issued if no land is expected to be impacted by the unorganized tropical disturbance, and will remain an area of interest until a true tropical cyclone has formed.

The last time Jacksonville, Florida was hit by a hurricane was Hurricane Dora of 1964. The city had storms riding the coast like Matthew and Irma, but not hitting the city off the Atlantic Ocean. There’s a geological reason why Jacksonville doesn’t get direct impacts from hurricanes, just like Savannah. Well time will tell, but the last time a eyewall went over Savannah was Hurricane David of 1979. I remember David, because I was in middle school when David hit

@@Buglife.352 I lived in St Petersburg from 1999-2001. One to the reasons why Tampa hasn’t seen a direct impact from tropical cyclones is its geographic location that sits in a buffer zone. That’s why from Cedar Key on has some of the best prime real estate in Florida because of its geographical location. That doesn’t mean it’s not going to happen, but it takes a lot of pieces to the puzzle for it to happen. But if it does happen, regardless of the storm intensity the storm surge will be devastating. So don’t pay attention to these KZread guys if something threatens your area because you’re more prone to storm surge than any other location in Florida besides Biscayne Bay, Florida. And we seen what happened to that area after Hurricane Andrew. Remember, it only takes one storm to change your life

This is the year dude. I am certain that Florida WILL AT LEAST get 2 Cat 5s and 1 Cat 4 in the east coast and gulf coast respectively. Yes, there won’t be any insurers left by the time this is done. Both the state and federal governments will be the ones eating the bill. Again I say it, people had the opportunity to analyze this early on and get out of that place. I sold my home a year ago and will never ever return. In a way I feel for these people who are stuck there with this doom that’s headed their way.
