Honda is no stranger to electrification. In fact, the brand’s first foray into the tech was during a similar timeline with its chief rival Toyota, wherein it released the Insight with the Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) system. Now in 2024, Honda Cars Philippines is using the CR-V as a vehicle to debut their latest e:HEV i-MMD system. We’ve already taken the 2024 Honda CR-V RS e:HEV hybrid for a first drive a few months ago, but a such a drive can only reveal so much about what it’s like to live with the car on a daily basis. Now that we’ve had a week with the brand’s electrified crossover SUV, what’s it like to live with the CR-V RS e:HEV?

For those who own this vehicle like myself, I highly recommend having a front strut bar installed which links the left and right suspension strut towers for better handling and balance since this vehicle is front wheel drive. It reinforces and stiffens up the chassis and makes it more stable by reducing chassis flex. It also counters the flaw found in MacPherson Strut. I've really noticed the difference specially when cornering. It's also easy to install and not that expensive either.
You guys are so lucky in PH. I was considering buying in New Zealand. The NZ version RS top spec e:HEV doesn't come with 360 camera, lane watch camera, blind spot or rear cross traffic alert. Deal breakers for 2024 top spec model.

Huh? How is PH lucky... this costs around 45,000 USD ... this only costs half that in the US
AWD should have been available at that price point.

true! pati yung wheels sana tulad nung sa ibang bansa. Honda Philippines may include that AWD variant next year and name it as 2025 model. :D

Concerning the ecvt transmission, do you still need to place it in neutral then hand brake then park?

Press the break, shift the transmission from D to P. Then flick the electronic brake switch. No need to go to neutral.
as someone who is eyeing this car 2nd hand in the future 5-7 yrs down the line.... how expensive is the hybrid battery to change? imagine this is bloddy expensive and the warranty of the battery is only upto 8 yrs

Kinda sad with these type of cars only offers front wheel drive. Hailing from Mindanao in some parts where the weather is unpredictable as it can go raining for a few days that makes the road slippery, an AWD car is kinda necessary, not to mention the slight off road destinations here is somewhat tricky. Of all car manufacturer only the Forester and Cx-5 maintained its awd system topping the forester as one of the best awd there is.

Choose the VX AWD 1.5 Turbo (187hp, 240nm). 🙂👍👍 The US version Sport Touring and Thailand RS e:HEV (where our CR-V are made) are both hybrid AWD. Let's hope they release it in the Philippines. Although the Honda AWD is not as off-road capable as Subaru, they are capable enough for wet roads and light dirt roads.

You won't go wrong with either. Execept the Rav4 Hev has a 2.3 Million variant.
Rav4 XLE is better if what you're looking for is a reliable hybrid

The RAV4 isn't quite selling in numbers. I'm afraid of parts availability 10 years down the road (unlike most Toyotas). The CRV seems more popular among Filipinos due to more features, and is available in non-hybid version so it will catch a bigger market. Except for the engine, most parts are shared between the hybrid and turbo.

Noisy, unrefined engine. That dated, spartan interior. Other older SUVs have better interior than the RAV4.

Crv runs smoother than the rav4! Plus rav4 is more pricey.
maka bili ka na top of the line Everest at Fortuer sa presyo na to... heck even Raptor or Hilux GR na sobrang g-gwapo!

Different strokes for different folks I prefer more refined cars like CRV than those you mentioned.
