2024 Himalayan 450 Ghats Ride Review - Good Low End Torque?

2024 Himalayan 450 Ghats Ride Review - Good Low End Torque?
In this video I test the Himalayan 450 through the ghats of Lonavala to see if it can pull through from 1st gear till 6th gear at lower RPM's.

    Hi bro 🤗 Do you have any built issues on this bike..? sorry to ask this but I have to. Because channel name Bulu Pattnaik has uploaded his first service video and he mentioned noise from cone set.. what do you think abt it

    I haven’t faced that issue yet. Need to check and I will get to know if it has issues only after I take it offroads. At this point of time, with a normal usage on highways and bad city roads I haven’t found any cone set issue. Issues can be bike specific though. Bulu bhai might have faced that issue, I might not.. hopefully 🤞

    Ok what is the crushing speed for new himalayan on 6th gear with lowest speed without knocking, hurting and hassling the 3 day old baby 452 sherpa engine

    Bro, just want to clarify a point in the beginning of your video around 02:00, that the stroke isn't really short but its not a thumper/long stroke either. The stroke and bore are almost same in sherpa 450. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong, will be learning for me 🙂

  • @nitishneo2

    @nitishneo2

    Hey Rishi.. actually Bore is 84mm and Stroke is 81.5mm. The stroke is shorter. Technically it’s an over square but you can call it squarish as there isn’t much of difference when it comes to the ratio when compared to a square engine. It’s almost 1:1. Hence called it short stroke. But again it’s not too short as well. RE went really conservative with this one.

    @@nitishneo2 yeah, makes sense. This is what I was thinking too. Even if RE wanted to go short stroke - low end sacrifice on a 200kg machine would have ended up in disaster for off-road/city, that previous KTMs already are. Looking at your video, its obvious the near square unit config was a wide decision, IMO. Maybe top-end not as good as KTMs(?) but well most people are going to use it in low-mid range. I'm desperately waiting to get my hands on one :) but RE seems very slow with deliveries.

    @@rishiroger absolutely, infact I have been an owner of 390 Adv and this engine is way more easy handle. That’s to its torque curve

    Hi bro, I’m looking for an upgrade and have a single bike garage, riding is 90% commuting to office and 10% sat/sun rides no off-roading tho and I’m stuck between what would be a better option between the interceptor and the Himalayan?

    For highway rides - if you are taller than 5.7 then Himalayan will be most comfortable. It’s fairly simple for your city usage as well.

    Can you sync offline google maps onto the display? Or you need internet always to use map feature?

  • @nitishneo2

    @nitishneo2

    8 ай бұрын

    Let me check that.. however the front display connects via an app from RE. You need to search maps on that application. That application works only when you have internet. So technically you need internet.

    @@nitishneo2 thanks for the reply. I have the app (not the bike yet :) ) , it didn't boot without internet. So technically, this map feature works only where you can find internet or there is some caching done ?

  • @nitishneo2

    @nitishneo2

    @@smpdvg caching would be done, probably for that session only. No option to store offline maps yet. However I believe RE will surely update their app to provide access to offline maps.

    Why are you trying to prove low end torque in every other video...ride it normally and see how its performing.

    Not trying to prove.. just putting the bike in various scenarios. This is what I do with every bike when I shoot videos. I put it under all possible scenarios to check how it performs. In the mean time it’s fun to capture the process. What if someone who is planning to buy wants to see how it performs in ghats? There you go, you have a video for that information.

    To be honest, a lot of people who go with RE is usually due to the nature of their low end Performance. Another reason is that most youtubers, including the wannabe ones will talk about top speed, revv nature or tech specs but true low end Performance is essentially what a lot of Indians would actually be seeing in day to day usage. Also its not a 150lg machine, so real life low end extremely matters.
