Hey guys.. I am expecting a lot of backlash on this video. Some people will call me names, call me unskilled. People on my first channel know that I have been riding motorcycles for a long time and I respect motorcycles to the core. I have experienced all the motorcycles from 60cc till 2500cc. Also what will I get by raising this issue. I have made videos on what’s good in this bike now I have a video on the issue I faced.

Brother Nitish.... you don't need to explain your plight and experience with RE.... Just like you even I have faced a lot of issues in terms of reliability with RE bikes... From my childhood owning a RE was a dream and it is still a dream to many people..... I have spent my hard earned money on 3 of RE products.. 1. RE classic 350, 2. RE continental 650, 3. Desert storm 500... I have decided never to put my money on RE products again... no matter if they launch Himalayan 650, 850, 1000 or even 2500cc.... they are nothing but trouble makers in a long run..... RE's R and D'S team have to design and make better products.... I personally feel that they are in a hurry to put themselves on the global map with their products rather making them more reliable and trust worthy.... RE team needs to understand that RE is an emotion for people.. but emotions cost nothing to them but cost the people to buy their products out of love..... No matter how people take my statement, I am done with RE.... FOR GOOD.😢

Frankly speaking you being an influencer, creating content round the clock, they are bound to give good service for a better reputation. If the same thing would have happened to an ordinary person, it would be blamed on the riding style and they would be needed to pay for the part irrespective of being 1k kms ridden! Sad reality but true

Not necessarily bro.. in this age and day everyone is an influencer. Anyone with a camera will make a content on this issue and the company is surely worried about this. Hence they will address the problem that everyone is facing. Trust me with one thing, RE was serious with this. I think they are already working on fixing this.

Agree with you @storiesofadi. RE bikes have issues. I had similar experience with my Hunter 350. After 1st service my bike started behaving weird. On a highway when I shift from 4th to 5th gear, there were jerky movements at an interval of 1-2 seconds till I'm holding the throttle in that speed. Once I roll back the throttle and again roll the throttle open, the jerky movements disappear. RE technician saw this issue as I took him for around 100kms to show this issue. RE sent an expert with me again for a 80km ride, same issue but he didn't accept it and started blaming on my riding style. He said don't rev match before downshifting. I mean seriously??..this guy didn't know rev matching and engine braking. I escalated to GM of the dealership, still no solution. Finally I gave up. Informed RE on their face that I'm gonna sell off this bike because of your poor service. I had clocked 9k kms in one year of ownership. Sold it off and Now I'm a proud owner of Triumph Scrambler 400X.

Hi nitish the problem regarding the clutch plates is not only with the new himalayn but also the meteor350, and many other RE bikes.. the 2 main reason for the problem is: 1. The horrible Liquid Gun engine oil that is used in the bike.. Always use Motul or liqui moly. 2. The longer period of the bike being parked, with the combination of the above point (bad quality engine oil) is the primary reason, if you go to the NCR Motorcycle channel, a guy had similar(not same) problem where the clutch (friction) plates were stuck to each other and the clutch lever was not working properly, so squeezing the clutch lever maybe10~20 times can free up the plates and you are good to go.. also the shit quality oil is less potent to manage the heat of the bike wich can ultimately burn them.. The solution is somewhat a practice you need to make, first use premium quality oil, the other is squeeze the clutch lever 10~20 times before firing the engine, as the oil is denser when its cold and let the engine heat up when you are squeezing it.. also tie the clutch lever to the handle when you dont intend to use for a longer period of time..

These niggles are something that can hamper the experience of a rider. RE needs to address all of them before launching their bikes. Yes, RE has come a long way but they need to put more efforts regarding reliability. In that regard, I guess the J series bikes are much more reliable I guess because of their simple mechanical parts and engineering which RE has been doing for ages(I'm telling because I have not heard of any major issues in J series bikes as of now so don't bash me). Thank you Nitish bhai for updating us. I hope your Himalayan roars from now onwards.

I fell in love with the Continental GT650 the day it was launched. I could buy it then itself but i waited as these were brand new engines. However Covid happened so my purchase got delayed and finally got it in 2022. First batches of RE have some issues, but yes the first buyers do have the novelty and pride of owning a bike nobody has. These problems are taken care by the company, well most of them, but what you compromise is the reliability. Once you have faced a problem, that thing lingers in your thoughts and all the time there is anxiety.

This issue started happening in most of the BS6 bikes, not just R.E. There are pros and cons of having light clutch lever feel. And keeping inexperienced riders & any manufacturing defects aside, majority of the time the main culprit is some inexperienced technician who slightly tightened the clutch play during service and the clutch started wearing out gradually from that point till faliure.

Many times, the clutch burn issue occur during running in period. As oil is overheated, it is recommended not to go for any long runs, especially don't ride in stop & go traffic for more than few seconds. Also, the most important thing is to avoid oil overheating by keeping the oil sump bottom as clean as possible. It will be best if the bike is purchased just before winter (Approx. November), so that there should be good cooling during running in period. Also for more discount (may not be possible always).

Bro.. Looks like you missed the entire point in my video. I said that a friend of mine mentioned that the clutch oil gets heated up early in Himalayan and this might create a problem In future but in my case it happened a lot early. I have also mentioned in the video that the company didn’t give me an update as to why it happened. Another point to notice, the company wouldn’t have replaced my clutch assembly if it was my mistake. Anyway I am not sure if you know me or if you have followed me on my main channel. Just to give you an information, I am not new to motorcycles. I have been reviewing motorcycles (every other motorcycle) for a long time. Trust me I would have known when to stop the motorcycle, if the engine had shown slightest of the issue. I have also shown the situation where my bike stopped. I have also mentioned in the video that I got my bike serviced at the right interval. That overheating was guess form the mechanic on call and not someone who actually saw it and assessed it. So stop assuming things bro. Just because I had a problem doesn’t mean that everyone will have one and just because you don’t have a problem with your bike right now doesn’t mean that it would never occur.

It is making more sense, KTM has experience of making liquid cooled engine and adv bikes about maybe 20yrs?, RE did this in a hurry and gave fancy cluster and parts, lets see the reliability of the engine. I read somewhere that liquid cooled engines are complex engine, and the biggest issue is coolant getting mixed with the engine making the whole engine fail. Even though the bikes are R&D'd and developed in europe, not so hope of quality with the RE.

do not generalise so simply. they had experienced in development of vehicle. every failure has a cause. and nitish has not elaborated properly why it happened or how he did investigation. if it was heat, why not he caught it beforehand or if it was sudden surge of heat , proper investigation is what necessary. which I think is need to be done. not every vehicle has problem.

@@akshay4892 still for me decision is based on exact coz of mechanical failure, and still upto this time no such proof has been presented. I feel bad for nitish that his bike broke down, but ultimately talking or debating is not solution, exact breakup of problem and it's coz is final thing to drive any point. which at this point is still not clear. I expect nitish to present clear coz of problem. every company has some problems with its products. Hero's engine r not as reliable as were earlier. Honda doesn't make it's good technologies available in value for money. Yamaha is not customer centric. bajaj does not produce refined engines. RE produce best value for money products but it has less diverse products or experience . so if RE is bad at something , i can prove any other company is also bad at anyother thing. so be logical and press on cause of problem not be judge. or if doing judgement than judge everybody else.
