    Beautiful truck Dave! Yes it is old school full sized. You can even fit a sheet pf plywood between the wheel wells now. Your Dad's S-15/Sonoma is from an era where work was the focus. The fact that you can't get a regular cab or even extended cab from Ford or GM in their midsized trucks says so much. We need some basic work mini trucks like that Sonoma again. I'm looking forward to all the future videos on it.

I have no doubt the 3.0L Ranger Raptor will be faster than my 2.7L Bronco. I would think with power seats, and fox live valve long travel suspension, that the comfort advantages would be well in the RR's favor over the Bronco Badlands in my case. Just curious what you and Kelly think about how yours compare.

    It's funny you mentioned the size vs the older trucks. I just yesterday watched a video about this very issue. There's a channel called All Cars with Jon and he made a video about it on Jul 3, 2023 called "Why We Can't Have Small Trucks Anymore - Blame the EPA" that helps explain it. I had my suspicions that the govt had their hand it in!

    @@Trucksntravel Basically the EPA has different minimum MPG requirements based on the size of the vehicle. Bigger vehicles have lower MPG requirements so carmakers are loathe to make smaller trucks because they would have meet the stricter MPG requirement (which costs them money,) or they would have to pay a penalty (costs them money), and the prices for smaller trucks means much smaller profit margins for all the work they would have to do to bring them to market.

    The elephant in the room is always that all the damned Ford Ranger, Nissan Navara, Toyota Hailux, Ww Amark and all the other small Pickups are that their cabins are not big enough and therefore the cars are WAY too expensive because they are simply useless as family cars. The cars cost the same as SUV cars and are also more expensive than SUV cars, but you only get half a car compared to the SUVs. There is simply too little legroom in the back seat and the cars are also too narrow. A man of 183cm cannot sit comfortably in the back seat of any of those pickups because there is NO LEG ROOM. So what the hell are we paying for when we can't have our 17 year old sons and daughters sitting in the back seat. THE CABINS ARE TOO SMALL AND WE GET TOO LITTLE CARS FOR THE PRICES OF THE CARS. Why isn't anyone talking about the damn problem with the small cabins. No legroom equals the fact that the cars cannot be used for families with children aged 15. Too little legroom.

  • @AllTerrainNation

    @AllTerrainNation

    Ай бұрын

    I think you would like more leg room.. If you look how small the old Nissan Hardbodys or S10s were the trucks have gotten larger. Sit in the back of the 1st gen s10 blazer and see if there is any room. I do agree that the price doesn't always reflect the usability but the new Ranger has pretty good space for 4 adults.

  • @roykilgour9790

    @roykilgour9790

    Ай бұрын

    @@AllTerrainNation I have tried all the brands and models I mentioned and none of them have good legroom in the back seats. NONE. Neither I, my children nor any grown man I know can sit in those back seats. There is simply no room for people over the age of 15 in those back seats. So I don't know how tall you are and how tall the people you say can sit in the back seats are. Paying for a full cabin and only being able to use the front seats for adults and teenagers is robbing customers of an overcharge. And I don't understand that all those who make videos of the cars don't talk more about the lack of legroom in the cars and really put a lot of emphasis on the space problem. My sons cannot sit in the back seats at all on any of the pickups I have mentioned and my youngest is 14 years old. In my f 150 it is perfect, but we cannot use the Rangers and the other pickups in the same class as the Ford Ranger. Therefore, it is disappointing to see video after video where no one really points out the lack of legroom in Ford Rangers, Toyota, Nissan Navara, etc. The cars are simply useless as family cars. As a family, you have to go up a number to, for example, the Ford F 150 in order for the car to function as a family car or as a crew car.
