2024 Ford Mustang GT Review // $50,000 V8 Champion
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
The 2024 Ford Mustang GT ($44,090 starting in the US, $50,595 in Canada) has seen many updates and styling changes in what Ford calls the all-new Mustang. With new dual air intakes and dual throttle bodies, the 2024 Mustang GT makes more power and torque from its beloved 5.0 L Coyote Engine - pushing the numbers up to 486 hp and 415 lb ft respectively. But is it really all-new? And how does it compare to the previous generation? Thomas and James are eager to get behind the wheel of the latest pony car from Ford. We hope you enjoy the episode. "Break traction. Understeer or Oversteer".. great knowledge that you shared there. It is one of the most important things to know when you become a GT owner. Before you go and "challenge the local at the red light", find a big empty parking lot (if you can't afford to go to track) and learn how and when "break traction" occurs. Learn how to correct Understeer/oversteer. If you are a Mustang owner, that is a regular behavior for the car. Nice review Throttle House.

I honestly just think that Ford wants the GT to be a comfortable cruiser with a lot of power, while the named cars like the Mach 1/Dark Horse/Shelby's are the actual sports cars. It's great to see its still getting built in the future 🙂
I remember when I was 16 and bought my 2004 Mach 1 mustang. $30,000 MSRP. With D-plan and rebate on the mustangs that was available I paid $23,500 and with tax and tags paid $25,200 total. Worked when 13 til then and saved any cent I got from Christmas, birthday etc and paid cash for that car. Was a fun car and loved the shaker hood.
I've owned mustangs sense the 80s and glad to see ford still making them . I currently own a 08 Gt500 since 09. It will be my last.

Visually the S650 is a step back for me. The performance improvements are really the only selling point. The screens are too much. One digital screen with apple car play would have been sufficient. How do you go from the base gt having an ipod nano for a screen to a dual iPad display?
@Mike696956

Lmao right ? I like the base models so i was hoping no screen would come in that spec but nope everything gets big ass screen(s). All that animation and fancy graphics are all gimmicks in my opinion give me a set of gauges and a small info screen for track data thats all you need.

Tom, you nailed it with your assessment of the steering. I have had this gripe ever since they went to electronically assisted steering. It’s not every model; but it’s pretty close to it… But personally, every ford i’ve driven past 2013 model year has absolutely no feedback in the steering wheel. Bravo!!
My GT350 over this any day. 6 speed Tremic, real hand brake, 526Hp hand built Flat Plane Crank, solid suspension and steering you can feel, excellent balance and EPIC sound. I don’t need screens. I need a good car

The foxbody gauge cluster is sick, probably my favorite feature of the car being a foxbody owner myself. But there were more foxbodies made then any other mustang ever and probably is the most supported and built mustang platform ever made. It’s iconic as hell

I was one of the ones that paid $50,000 for the Ford Thunderbird V8 in 2002, and thought I must be crazy, which proved to be true when I sold it 2-years later for less than half what I paid. This one seems a little better.

@@trentdaddydolla647 I think the main thing that hurt the Camaro was the break Chevy took producing them.
It definitely has a lot of inspiration from the early 70s Mach 1 with that grille that comes out so far beyond the fenders and those narrow taillights from a distance look like a first gen size wise. But the screens are a mood killer.
I watched this a second time with the sound off just to see all the cool shots of the car. Blacked out like that makes it look very Mad Max.

In 2017 I bought a fully loaded GT with the performance pack, it’s msrp was $2000 cheaper than the base price for a GT today. The GT in 17 started at 31k, and some dealerships offered a base GT with a supercharger for under 40k making up to 727hp IIRC and it retained warranty. IMO the mustang isn’t the performance car for everyone any more, it’s now the same heavy and expensive car everyone else is selling.
