Last year I traded my 1200s Multi for a BMW K1600 GT for more really long rides (I live in the US, home of the 1000 mile day) but this new RS has me thinking that another Multi could well be in my future. I do love the big K bike but gosh it is heavy and closing in on 70 that becomes more of a consideration. Congrats on the new bike, beautiful

It’s sounds like you’ve already made your own decision. Yes the bike you have has ticked most of the boxes ✔️ but if you can afford a RS multi then why not? Its been created for crazy comfort rider. Its going to be garbage on fuel ⛽️ but its has the thrill factor of winning the lotto. If I could I would 🏍️💨💨💨

@@thatbikersimon Hi mate how is the fuel cut on deceleration on both bikes? I ride the 2010 speed triple and its smooth as butter.

If it helps, the RS can have a centre stand with the upgraded exhaust. It comes as part of the touring pack as fitted to mine but available separately. All the Multistradas are superb bikes so pick what suits best. Happy biking!

I just put Road 6 tires on my Pikes Peak and it changed the bike for the better! MUCH smoother ride over the Corsa's and that translates into faster riding in the canyons.

Good to know! I did wonder if it would make a difference on the smaller wheels 👍

I have the PP and am trying to NOT rationalize going to the RS next year. My thought was the lower torque at a higher RPM of the RS would NOT help the in-gear roll-on acceleration when actually touring with wife, as I use the PP for--until I off-load her and then want all the rush. But everybody reports the RS feels very alive even at low RPM. I did de-restrict my PP ECU (OFT tuning) and that made a massive difference in feel, engine response, in-gear pull. SO an in-gear drag race at some point would be helpful! :)

It sounds like what you’ve actually got is everything you’ll ever need. The issue is the with the RS it kinda built for a track but not. It’s going to be a fun revy engine for single person riding, but I have yet still to ride this bike so il definitely bring you my personal opinion and a drag race might be a interesting idea 👍🏍️💨💨💨💨

I would appreciate your feedback. How would you rate the comfort for the rider and passenger on longer trips? To be precise, we take 1 to 2 trips to neighbouring countries per year, with each trip not exceeding 2500 to 3000 km. This means the majority of rides will be on country roads with occasional highway travel. I ask because the RS seems much more "sexy" to me, but when I consider it from a usability standpoint, the Pikes Peak variant seems better. I should also mention that most reviewers agree that it’s truly a bike for everything without the need for significant compromises. I would appreciate your feedback.

If it was me I would buy a piikes peak it’s still got the sporty feel and much more of a versatile bike for you and pillion. The biggest thing that lets it down on the RS is not having the ability to put a top box on for the pillion to rest on. The fuel range isn’t going to be the best on the RS if you ride it hard. If you going to hit any trails/broken roads then the V4S is a better choice

@@thatbikersimonThank you for your feedback. I went on a test ride on the Pikes Peak and I must say, my pillion felt a lot more comfortable on it compared to half an hour earlier on the V4 Rally. The Pikes Peak suited me as well, but considering that the price difference is "only" €6,000, I would go for the RS. I agree that the top box might be an issue, but the number of extremely long rides will be minimal. As for fuel consumption, it should be very similar; I expect the difference to be around 0.5-1 litre/100km.

I have a Streetfighter V4s 2021. How does the RS compare in terms of performance and feel. The SF is "explosive" and wondering if you have the same sensation on the RS?

37k! Fair play to him but Ducati have gone mad. It may do the job of the naked V4 and multi rolled into one but including almost the entire price of both is super Ducati lol, 10k or more than the M1000xr is an interesting decision, time will tell if it's £10k more bike i guess. Thanks for the tea time entertainment 👍

Thanks for the comment, it is bonkers on the price, it’s a numbered bike and Ducati can charge what they like. I’m hoping il get a little ride once it’s ran in, as we both did own Streetfighters v4s so it would be interesting to feel the difference. It’s a bike that’s out of my budget for sure 👍

Yep, I'll stick with my used 1260 Pikes Peak that cost me £14k and has just done a 9,000 mile USA road trip and not missed a beat. The way motorcycle prices keep rising is a joke. I bought a new RSV Factory in 2008 for £8,995. In 15 years they're now 3+ times as much! @@thatbikersimon
