2024 Dongfeng M-Hero 917 Armor Edition in-depth Walkaround
Dongfeng’s M-Hero 917 is gearing up for export to Europe and the Middle East, bringing a new level of luxury and innovation to the full-size SUV market. The 2024 Dongfeng M-Hero 917 is available in two distinct models: a pure electric vehicle (EV) and an extended-range electric vehicle (EREV).
The pure EV model features four electric motors, each driving a wheel independently. This setup enhances traction and performance and enables advanced functionalities like a crab walk maneuver, providing exceptional maneuverability.
The EREV model, on the other hand, is equipped with a 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine producing 145 kW (197 hp). This engine powers three electric motors and is paired with a 65.8 kWh battery, offering a pure electric range of 200 km (120 miles). In the EREV configuration, the internal combustion engine serves solely as a generator to charge the battery and supply power to the electric motors, without directly driving the wheels. This design maximizes efficiency while maintaining the flexibility of extended-range capabilities.
