2024 Cookstown 100 Road Races Day 2 - Race Day - Raynet Operator View

I am a Raynet operator on events in Northern Ireland. Raynet is Radio Amateurs' Emergency Network. Last weekend we were covering the Cookstown 100 motorcycle road races. Essentially we work with the emergency medical services on this event to provide care to injured riders if an incident should happen.
This is just a short video to show a little of what we do and show some of the bikes on race day Friday 26th April 2024. As I am involved in my duties as a Raynet operator I have not provided and explaination of the races and practice sessions. I put my camera on a gorillapod and wrapped around a gate and left it filming. I do show the riders on 1st and last lap in each category.

Great coverage Gary. Set up my camera before your section but forget to adjust the focus and made a muck up of my entire video so it was nice to see some outstanding camera work. I also from Belfast.😀

Thanks for your kind comments. I would love to have filmed better coverage but as I have the Raynet duties to do I just wrapped a gorillapod around a gate and let it run. It's a pity about your footage. We all have done that in our time with cameras. Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to leave a comment.
Hi Gary. Been a while since we used to meet up in Belfast. Glad to see you're still volunteering with Raynet and have the same interest in m/cycle road racing. Cookstown was always my happy start to the road season. Great post of yours here. I haven't been for a few years. My lifetime friend and fellow spectator passed away and I haven't been to a race since. Anyway enough of that, I heard you're happily retired and happily married. Look after yourself and continue posting. Victor.

Hello Victor. It's great to hear from you again. Yep you heard correctly, I am married, living in Portadown and happily retired. I do miss the Saturday afternoons sharing a cold one .... or two. I'm glad you like the video. Next week is the NW200 which I will be at so I will cobble together another little video. Since I'm doing Raynet I can't concentrate on the video so I just let it run and see what I can piece together. Maybe we could get to meet up at some stage and share a suds and a get a good catch up. @@GaryGSF Big man, I stopped imbibing approx. 6 yrs. ago. NW 200 is a race I didn't miss for over 30 yrs.Great day out, even better if you're not driving. Enjoy yourself. Where's young Mark this weather? Haven't seen him since the club closed. Enough waffling, look after yourself. All the best. V.

@@yaboyya1945 I remember going with you one year and stopping in Dervock on the way back. A real good day out. I see Mark every 6 weeks or so. We get a suds in Belfast. He's doing well. I will pass on your salutations to him. It's been great to hear from you. Take care and hope to see you soon.
