2024 Chevy Trax Review

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

When we last saw the Chevrolet Trax it was not a super interesting vehicle. It was pretty slow and very bland. But now after a year off, the Trax is back for a 2024 redesign. So is this the same old bland story, or a ground up glow up? Let's check it out to see how it stacks up against competitors from Volkswagen, Mazda and even Chevy itself.

The new Trax is a very important vehicle. Its nice to see a major manufacturer put out an affordable, enjoyable and nice looking ICE car in this day and age. Working folks and commuters need cars like this and I wish more would concentrate on vehicles like this. Consumers want a more SUV/Crossover styled car and a cheaper new car with a warranty. The Trax fits the bill. Plus you can get it service in most towns in the country.

I agree 100%! The way prices of everything are skyrocketing, it’s good to know you can still get a quality SUV for less than 30k. I was at the Lexus service center yesterday for my 84 year old mom. She has an 11-year-old Lexus with 53,000 miles that she babies, and it still runs like a dream. I took a look at the new Lexus autos. Wow. I will probably not be able to afford one until I’m in my 70s as well. If I’m lucky! 😊

@@virchewal I have not taken it on any "trails" as I don't really do that. It is not 4-wheel drive or AWD and it doesn't come with those options. I have taken it on many road trips with both interstate and 2-lane highways and it's a great car for that. Decent gas mileage, lots of options and comfortable ride. Bought it in December and it already has 14K miles on it.

I just bought the activ in Black a week ago, I have a little over 600 miles. I've spent the last two days going over the infotainment center learning how it functions. I think I've got it down. Got in the car today, realize there's a button on the side of the shifter, at your thumb. It's a manual shift button. Of all the reviews I watch nobody's mentioned this. Took me a week to discover it. The button function Is describes it in the owner's manual. I love this vehicle! Nice ride, really good city mpg, looks great.

GM kind of half-baked this one, I guess better on the shift knob than not at all! I really like my black activ, awesome car, every option except for sunroof cordless phone charger. With a $1600 dollar GM retiree discount $26008 tax, title, plates. Didn't buy the extended warranty, or gap insurance, dealers really push this hard. New cars come from the factory with warranty don't bye, it's a waste of money!

I can tell you as a GM master tech that works for the dealers, I don’t really see any issues with them compared to other vehicles we offer it seems above average in reliability. The 1.2l has been out for around 5 years now and hasn’t show any major flaws imo. The 6speed transmission it comes with is a huge plus as the 1.2l trailer blazers had a CVT which has seen some failures, but the 6speed should be bulletproof in comparison. Will it go 250k+ miles? I guess time will tell but for the initial 100k+ miles it’s been showing some promise. I would absolutely stay on top of oil changes religiously with an engine like this though! Maintenance is everything for longevity

I'm pretty happy with my Trax, runs great and it's fast, faster than what you say, if you want a car that goes to 60 mph in 3 seconds, buy a mustang but be ready to get a ticket, pretty useless, the acceleration on the Trax is just PERFECT. The ENGINE IS NOT that noisy, well, if you drive a very luxurious car it's probably not as quiet, but no it's not that bad as you say, you are exaggerating! The restarting at a traffic light is perfect also, just as good or even better than a Mercedes, real fast!!! Great car, I bought the 2024 and plan to buy the 2026.

The 2024 Trax is a compelling value for the segment. It looks great. It's spacious for its size. It has decent performance and economy. The real caveat is predicted long-term reliability combined with a short warranty. That's a major area of concern given GM Korea's reliability track record in general, including the prior generation Trax. This inexpensive vehicle might end up costing a lot more long-term than some of its more expensive competition. It should be noted that the 2024 Trax has direct injection and a timing belt instead of a timing chain. Both areas may require additional maintenance costs over competitors that have multiport injection or dual injection and a timing chain.

I do not like the fact they dropped the AWD we were ready to trade our 2019 bit no dice. We live in south westbMichigan and we need that traction. Our trax is a daily driver. Very disappointed in chevrolet. We are looking at a nessain or subaru all track. 😢

If it didnt have that god awful eco engine it would be alright. Really need to drop that tiny turbo junk engine and just put a normal 4 cyl like Honda and Toyota do.

A used equinox is double the price of this. Most used vehicles are more expensive then a new one.. also equinox of the last generation have so many issues.

Please start taking those antipsychotics we talked about when you were inpatient at the psychiatric facility. There's a good boy.
