Joe and gang, each year you have a podcast on this subject, have you ever reviewed your season to compare what you anticipated to be the best days compared to your actual experience with boots on the ground. be interesting to see the results.

Good question Bill. There is a two fold answer to this. First, each year’s prediction is based on a culmination of the last year and each previous season’s prior boots on the ground experiences. Secondly, at the end of each hunt, on our live from Elk camp show, we talk about what surprises we had with behavior as well as how our hunt went. We have had some slight adjustments, but the annual picture is more about considering the other mitigating influences that come with Labor Day and perceived hunt pressure dates, state hunt schedule dates, lunar phases and expected behavioral impacts. Both animal and hunter. It’s those small intricacies that can change our thoughts and strategies.

Hey Joe, you guys should touch on bugs. Ticks, squeeters and chiggers. How to avoid and live with them before and after the kill. ticks crawling off a head while pack out? Squeeters feeding while you hold for that broad side shot, oh and the chiggers ohhh boy! Tricks n tips? 10 out of 10 guys keep it up.

Hunting ruiodoso, I belive so. The mysterious huge mosquito bites that end up under the belt line or ankles under the boots. Same as the pan handle of Texas. Could be something else but a quite the bummer.
