De Niro was fine, doing his usual bad guy role, for an 80 yr old man. Definitely nothing earth shattering. Overall, KOTFM is a good movie. Pacing was very good, never felt boring. But was it anything original? Not really? Scorsese was very comfortable doing his crime drama. But again, was it earth shattering, the way DANCES WITH WOLVES was when that was first came out? KOTFM is a very good movie. But I don’t think it will be remembered in 20 years. Again, nominating De Niro because they felt they had to nominate someone!!!! 😂😂😂😂 We all know Cillian will most likely win.

They chose chaos and I live for it! The curveball awards never fail to amaze me!

Two black women in lead actress but BAFTA is still racist for not nominating Gladstone? You ever think maybe it’s because she’s not actually the damn lead in the film? Or maybe BAFTA just didn’t like the film considering it almost completely blanked?

I’m very happy for both Barrino and Oparah - two phenomenal performances. However, they were both obviously jury picks and were chosen to be nominated by a very small group. That jury isn’t racist, but considering that the top three that were voted on by the overall BAFTA voting body were all white women when Gladstone is a top two contender for the Oscar is telling about the voting body (who already has an infamous history of being racist)

It’s obviously unfair to say that any award show that doesn’t nominate one specific person is automatically racist but it is worth asking questions… it’s worth asking is this indicative of a bigger issue especially considering that 100% of the winners last year were white. It’s just a question to which the answer could always be no… it’s meant to spark discussion.

Lol😂 2 black women are nominated so they can't be racist, where did u learn racism definition, u sound so American. Its a spectrum where there are other races too including red indian. Anyway lilly has done a phenomenal job and should have been nominated, if u think she was supporting, where is her nomination in supporting? Didn't they gave viola the supporting award for fences 😂🤣 Whatever had happened it's unfair to lilly and people can have their own theory. Hypothetically calling them racist has more logic then u saying that they nominated 2 black women so they can't be racist 😂 They did dirty with kofm in screenplay and directing too and scott 😅 feel sorry for him, his own country award did f him instead they nominated Barry and Jacob 😂

@@ZakYakaveta some mayhem for once. Not as boring and predictable as Critics Choice, for example. Also a lot of love for "black" actors, unlike in any other year. Some very interesting choices, imo (#TeoYooSquad). I wish Oscars next week are at least half as fun as these nominations.

Lilly Gladstone can still win the SAG and still go on to win the Oscar. Jessica Chastain missed BAFTA and still won the SAG and Oscar for Eyes Of Tammy Faye. Same with Regina King.

Very happy both her and Brooks got recognized. No matter how anyone feels about the film, I feel like you can’t deny how great they both are

I’m surprised Lily Gladstone wasn’t nominated for BAFTA especially considering that I thought she’s a top 2 contender to win the Oscar. Although, I’m not super annoyed she didn’t get nominated because I thought she was good but not awards worthy good. I don’t know why she won the most critics prizes for Best Actress. Some of the nominees I thought were better than her especially Sandra Huller from Anatomy of a Fall who I think delivered the past performance from last year. I was surprised she was double nominated at BAFTA. I hope she wins the BAFTA for Anatomy of a Fall.

By the way, I was annoyed Sandra Huller got snubbed at SAG. She should win that category. I guess the SAGs hate nominating international actors and actresses. The BAFTAs made up for it by not just nominating her for Anatomy of a Fall but also The Zone of Interest. She didn’t get nominated for The Zone of Interest either.

I think the BAFTAs mostly got it right; i.e. no nomination for Leonardo di Caprio (generally a very overrated actor) - and I kind of agree with leaving Lily Gladstone out as well (she's good, but the other nominees are simply more deserving in my opinion

Bafta voters definitely liked The Holdovers, that and Oppenheimer will probably dominate maybe Stone wins lead

I think the nominees line up here is better than the american award giving bodies…my only complain is Greta Lee not nominated…Lily for me is good in the supporting category she will win all of the awards if she is in supporting category

They snubbed lee but they did teo yeo which is also very strange, I'm glad he got in but that's odd and no Celine song,fuck that's hopeless And no Andrew Scott,that's not happening that also makes no sense they did it in director and the supporting categories and screenplay but he missed(I didn't see the movie but from what I know he is the best part of the movie) Barbie missed best film so I'll say it can underperform at the oscars

Yeah no Greta Lee was upsetting and kinda confusing. But I do think Scott missing when every other aspect of the film overperformed and was honored and when he’s the highlight of the film was shocking! Still don’t get it

Lol, how dare the British not chose their nominees based on American values and bias?

I’m surprised Barbie underperformed at BAFTA especially considering that movie had the most nominations at Golden Globes and Critics Choice. I guess Barbie is more popular in America than internationally. I was surprised it wasn’t nominated for Best Picture. It reminds me of when Top Gun: Maverick, another blockbuster that helped save cinema, underperformed at BAFTA and didn’t get a Best Picture nomination. That film didn’t win a single BAFTA not even for Best Sound which won the Oscar. I’m worried Barbie won’t win a single BAFTA. I think Anatomy of a Fall should win Best Original Screenplay, but Barbie should at least win for either Costume Design or Production Design. I’m worried the BAFTAs will award both of those categories to Poor Things.

I am afraid you are wrong sir baftas changed the rules the jury is only allowed to pick 2 now

killers miss director, screenplay, lead actress, but made it to best picture, honestly what's wrong with bafta...

WTF indeed. And some of it is hard to make sense of. Putting aside some of the crafts: KOFM get Best Picture and Supporting Actor, but not much else- no director, screenplay, Actress. Maestro gets a lot of noms including Director, Actor, Actress, screenplay - but NOT Best Picture. Barbie did about as expected at BAFTA - some above and below. Poor Things gets Best Film, Actress, Screenplay - but not Director or Supporting Actress. Oppenheimer, Holdovers, Zone, Saltburn, All of Us Strangers, Anatomy all did really well.

Yeah there really seems to be no method to their madness here. Guess that’s what happens when you mix the general voting body and a jury together in some categories

When Lilly moved from supporting to lead after the POOR THINGS reviews came out absolutely everyone said she threw it away and somehow over the weeks ppl have just forgotten

Barbie getting acting but no directing or Picture was weird

BAFTA is a hot mess. Love some of the surprises but the snubs are devastating. I can’t even talk about Andrew Scott not being here without getting very upset. I saw All Of Us Strangers for the 1st time yesterday & his performance is breathtaking. Jamie Bell missing out too just isn’t sitting right. He has maybe the best line of dialogue in the entire movie & his scenes are so emotional. Can’t believe the film did incredibly well across the board but these two lost out?? Makes no fucking sense. Greta Lee out but Teo Yoo in… liked his performance but how do they keep getting nominated separate from each other? Weird! Killers is all over the map. Lily missing out is a huge snub because I believe she’s the best part of the film. 3 prominent filmmakers (Scorsese, Lanthimos & Gerwig) not making Director!!! Wow Great to see Danielle Brooks, Fantasia Barrino & Vivian Oparah make the list!!! The Zone of Interest getting everywhere but picture was is a strange choice. I was happy with the Saltburn noms. I’m in the camp of loving this film. My favourite film of the year OPPENHEIMER DOMINATING!!! Bring home all the awards especially that BAFTA Cillian Murphy 👏
