It has been a long time since we have seen Rocky at the feeder. For those that subscribe, you likely remember him from this past winter. He showed up one December day in rough shape after surviving an attack of some sort. The going theory is a cat almost got him.
There is no doubt that this is Rocky. You can see the wound on his neck still as his feathers did not grow in. You can also see the huge scar or discolored feathers on his chest or front side. It is GREAT to see him again and I am glad he is doing well. I was just thinking of him the other day. I am very happy that he let us know he is still around! He could not stay long as he is invading another male Cardinals territory. I should name the other Cardinal Spot, as he has a spot on his forehead that is missing feathers.
