2023 Wem Vehicles of Interest | Classic car show and road run walkaround

July 2023 saw the annual Wem Vehicles of Interest take place for another great event, this full walkaround video showing you the classic cars parked up in the show, the parade around the Wem town centre, and our Standard 8!
A couple of classics stood out for me - a lovely Standard Vanguard (interview included!) and a gorgeous Mercedes Benz, which featured in a dedicated interview video here:

Overall it was a great event with a fantastic variety of classics ranging a group of bubble cars to a pair of Fiat 126s, all parading around the Shropshire town centre.

Hi 👋 Harley Those BMW Isettas are so tiny. I think i would be afraid of being in one , worried that a large truck is going to run it over. That Volkswagen Polo Estate would be rare. Here in New Zealand we didn't sell them on the car market. We only sold the Beetle and Golf cars. The Ford Escorts of the 1970s made good rally cars. I remember watching a rally here in the early 1970s, and the Escorts dominated. Japanese Mazdas were good rally cars too. Invasion of Minis there. Good show Harley thankyou.

Me again, My father would take me to the Speedway to watch the racing motorcycles. I got to see World champion bike rider Ivan Mauger. Ask you dad about him if you don't know of him. Your father may know about him.
I'm hoping to go next year in my '55 Chevy hot rod. It's a replica of the grey car from the film 'Two Lane Blacktop'. Ex- Custom Car featured car.
Gotta say, the part with the car was more than adequate
It's rather cool to see the old and new mixing together. I really like it too, when you get an opportunity to chat with an owner to glean a bit more information about their car. Great video. Car of the day is too tough to call but since I was a kid I have loved "Bubble" cars and it was to good seeing several running together at this event.
Why is it that classic Ford owners are obsessed with transplanting hugely powerful engines. Originality is everything! Swapping out original mechanicals makes it a 'hot rod' not a classic!
