Honestly, we were thinking about driving them. I guess we just never emphasized driving the cars as much of just bringing the car exterior and interior to the viewer. But maybe we will start.

I own a 2023 XC60 Recharge Ultimate. A few things to be aware of. Volvo dropped the automatic parking this year. Volvo dropped wireless phone charging. Volvo still doesn't do wireless Apple Carplay. Volvo doesn't seem to have ever implemented digital key. Android Auto doesn't support Apple Music. If you like using Apple Maps via carplay, they won't show up in the speedo panel and you may get conflicting directions between Google maps and Apple maps. Android Auto may be good in the long term, but it's kind of a dumpster fire right now. Ours got so confused about speed limited care keys that the solution was to factory reset it. Not sure why Volvo with it's big rep for safety makes you have to use the touchscreen for climate control. You can talk to Android Auto to make changes, and it works well as long as you're cell connected (not sure what carrier they use), but it doesn't always work where I am. Don't get me going about the double detent shifter that isn't obvious at all. Oh, no paddle shifters and at least on the recharge version you can only manually shift in brake regen mode. There is a lot to love about this car. Styling is great for a SUV. Speed is insane in the recharge version. B&W sound is very nice (and very expensive). I really like mine, but beware some of these issues if you're cross shopping a BMW, MB or Audi.

My daughter just got the dark B5 with the plus package with the upgrade speakers and wheels. Your review was very complete and helpful in her decision. She drove both the b5 and b6 and felt the b5 was fine. Couldn’t tell a lot of difference

Great review. Not clear for me if most differences are coming from B5 vs B6 or Dark Theme vs Bright Theme. I just ordered an XC60 Recharge in that same silver colour with the dark trim in the Plus package. I am assuming it will be identical to the one on your video exterior-wise except for the wheels which will be 20 inches vs 21 in the Ultimate.

The slight differences will be from dark vs bright in coloring of trims. So the difference would be more geared towards the dark and bright. But also slight differences in engine specs from b5 to b6. If that makes sense. So both I believe have slight differences.

I thought the XC60 Core and Plus both came with HUD. From what I read after pressing View all features. The Core and Plus come with Road Sign Information. It can be seen in the HUD or on the speedometer. The features include your speed, alerts you with speed limits, no passing as well as a few other functions. When I pressed View all features for the Ultimate. In addition to having Road Sign information. The navigation can be seen in the HUD. I would love to find out if the navigation feature can be added to the Plus as an add on. There was a post somewhere which said it can be added if you chose the Harmon system on the Plus. Unless I didnt read it correctly.

The only HUD that comes with the option of navigation integrated in the HUD is the XC90. You don’t get the option in the XC60

Do you have information on the added performance with the Polestar optimization on the B5?

I'm going to pick up a B5 ultimate in a few days. Great review, great cars. Although it's irksome that the heated steering wheel and luggage cover are pricey options. Even the polestar optimization should be included since it's just a software update. And the optional Bowers/Wilkins upgrade sound system is fantastic but is it really $3200 more fantastic than the included Harmon Kardon system?🤷‍♂️ This will be my 2nd Volvo. Loved the XC40 but needed a bigger vehicle.

Very nice and classy cars honestly. But seems like you’ve done some research on it.

Previously, if the car had been upgraded with Polestar Engineered, it had a blue Polestar badge on the boot lid to confirm this upgrade. In addition, Polestar gave a certificate that this car has indeed been fitted with the relevant upgrade, which cannot be said for what you see here..

@@VagabondBuilds I believe there was a Polestar Engineered badge on the boot lid, just in a different grey. Your video at 19:30 shows that this upgrade is included in the $1400 price of the car, so it looks like everything is fine. Only you are missing the mentioned Polestar certificate in the video, which confirms the car's performance indicators after the Polestar improvement, because 247 HP is the standard performance of the XC60 B5 car

Count how many times you said "Go ahead" then ask yourself was that instance really necessary

No I didn’t… I didn’t own one. Just a walk around review. I would guess in order to check these things you’ll need a longer period of time with the car.
