Thanks Yoma!
Great review! I spoke with my local Toyota dealer in Tokyo (as i live here) and Toyota will be increasing the number of cars for the domestic market in Japan, effectively reducing the number produced for the overseas markets, given problems with the supply chain and shortage of semiconducters; assume this is going to mean even longer wait times in your part of the world - crazy i know. I was really fortunate to be able to order a RAV4 Prime in Tokyo two weeks ago (same trim as the one in the clip; magnetic grey metallic two tone with an April '23 delivery date); hopefully these supply chain/parts issues are sorted out and they can ramp production up again!

@@tracksandtrees Not sure how many vehicles we get here but I do know that wait times for Rav4 hybrids are up to 2 years in some places. You can get a petrol Rav4 in about 6-12 months tho which is better but not by much. I was lucky enough to get my hybrid Rav4 in 3 weeks (sounds insane I know but I’m not kidding). And yes haha, great weather here. Wishing you all the best for the future and will definitely be watching every video from now on!

@@tracksandtrees Oh, don't I know it! I got lucky that the people that ordered this one were not able to purchase it when it arrived, and I have a great relationship with my local dealership over the past 20 years, so... the sales manager knew to text me !
Picking up this exact model configuration in a couple of weeks. Bought the 22 Hybrid Limited for the wife, but finally found an XSE Prime Premium available. Only $2.5k over sticker. Was so upset that I passed up one that I ordered in Summer 2021. Took 5 months to come so I bought my first Tesla used and haven’t turned back. But the wife really wanted this Prime. Glad they updated the infotainment. The back-up and top down camera looks much better than our 2022. And the 12 inch center stack is nice.

@@DavidElCid300 Tesla Y has its own pros and cons, but overall the experience is better than Toyota/Lexus. It depends how far you plan to drive and if you can charge level 2 at home. The acceleration is great and very nimble. Electronics and app work smooth. Lexus app doesn’t even show my car and takes forever to load. After a lifetime of owning Toyota/Lexus and having a new 2023 Lexus, I would buy Tesla Y hands down.

I put my name on a wait list in November 2021 at Valley Toyota (in Chilliwack) and got a RAV4 Prime XSE in April 2023. My neighbour ordered the same as soon as they saw mine, and have been told it will arrive in July…but then the longshore workers went on strike. Nevertheless, it seems availability is increasing. What is the wait list now at your dealership?
Great review! I will be picking up mine next month and wonder how many keys does it come with.....thank you.
@tracksandtrees
Жыл бұрын
It’s been pretty hit and miss what vehicles are coming with one key because of the chip shortage - but if it does come with one key, Toyota has said the second key will be delivered to your dealership once stock is available again (no time frames - some clients here have been waiting about 5 months with no ETA yet). So I’m not sure what your Prime will come with. I hope two! 🤞
I noticed the top tailgate bumper protector. Is this an oem Canadian part? I can't seem to find it here in the US for my Rav4 Prime. Are there any links you can post where I can purchase one? Great job with the overview.

@@bradcrittenden1789 Yes you're correct! I'll have to make a short too on what's included on the 2.0 vs the 2.5 and 3.0 I think !
I have a 2021 Rav4 Prime SE and it’s a great car. The digital display and the infotainment system are a big upgrade. I think Toyota was really lagging on those items in the earlier Primes. Although the infotainment system is a big improvement, I’m surprised it has so much wasted space on it. The unused area on the left and right is huge. I’m also surprised they didn’t improve on the wireless charger.
Great job Elizabeth thank you ! My R4P/tech is arriving the end of January after a 16 month wait and just wondering if the rubber mats come with it ? Also wondering what the difference is if any between the pressing the ECO/heat/cool button and just turning the knob to ECO ?
@tracksandtrees
Жыл бұрын
Hey congratulations in advance! The Eco knob basically lowers your RPMs and if you have a lead foot if doesn’t ‘put out what you’re putting down’, so to speak.the eco/heat/cool basically runs your ac at a reduced rate which saves on gas/battery :) so if you’re not particularly needing to heat up or cool down asap - I’d leave this mode on! At our dealership we include both sets of rubber and carpet mats - but I believe that’s up to your local dealer to decide! I hope this helps 😁

Yes it’s a bit crazy with the time frames as we typically have been getting about 30 units a year! So if we have 150 orders… it’s tough! Not sure if or when production will increase to our area but we are all majorly hoping! It’s such a huge advantage having 3-in-1. The year clients receive their Primes will be relative to the year it arrives in… so yes I’m sure features, price, rebates etc are bound to change!

I know that all of our incoming models for the year are presold - we typically get about 30 a year and we have 5 times that amount of orders (hence the rough time frame of 4-5 years). I've had mine 8 days. This car is 0-60 mph in 5.5 seconds, faster than my Audi that i just got rid of. It's basically as fast as anything Toyota makes. About 305 horsepower with incredible torque. Electric engine both front and back along with gas engine. It feels about as fast as anything I've owned. Had to pay a few thousand over MSRP., but got it in 5 weeks. [saleman claimed they'd been getting $15k over MSRP, ho ho ho] The multimedia display is a handful but I imagine I'll get the handle on it soon. The owner manuals are confusing, over 60 computers in car per Salesman. Wife complains the passenger seat is too high, difficult to get into, is manually operated (driver seat is power as you just saw) and passenger seat does NOT go up and down. She's only about 5' 8" tall. Her other complaint is the small size of the glove box. I've not let her drive it yet.

@@ag4eng Heavens create an environment for gouging profits. No they would not do that would they? Some manufacturers dealers deliver on MSRP which is already bad enough. Money has tightened considerably lately so these days may be short lived..

People place orders and receive their cars down the road! Time frames are continually fluctuating as the demand is extremely high and Toyota is trying to produce as much as possible. There were many parts shortages (across the world) and it has affected everyone, including order times on new vehicles

4 to 5 years wait times. No thanks.
Rav 4 Hybrids are 2 years in Canada now yet Americans get them in a couple of months. Canadians need to boycott Toyota. No excuse for such discrepancies on a vehicle that's made in Canada as well. Obviously Toyota gives the US parts priority. Rav 4 Prime is vapourware. You will never get one.

@@mikej238 I assume most of those people waiting will give up and buy something else or will be financially unable to when they slowly become more available, I gave up a couple yrs ago and bought a new chevy instead...wish I didn't lol.
