2023 Toyota Hilux GR-S / Exterior & Interior / More Power / Cost Of Ownership
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Hilux GR-S sports a power increase that’s specific to this derivative. Its 2.8-litre 4-cylinder turbodiesel now produces 165 kW and 550 Nm courtesy of a new ECU (as opposed to a basic software update).
Toyota Safety Sense is being rolled out across an increasing number of Toyota models and it provides the Hilux GR-S with adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning and a pre-collision system.
The Toyota Hilux GR-S is sold with a 3-year 100 000 km warranty and 9 services/90 000 km service plan.

I'd honestly go for the Toyota hilux. I personally view their current exterior and interior design as timeless. It's an absolute classic. Plus, if it isn't broken, don't fix it.
Cant beat Toyota reliability and resale value.

I would go for the new Ranger no doubt. I love Hilux but this seems so outdated right now
I'd buy this car in a heartbeat.😂
I'll buy this Car Toyota is legendary.
Toyota is KING of the world , HIlux , Landcruser, Tacoma
Good work
😊 Nice review If this cars wasnt a theft risk I would buy now I drive new Amarok top spec
I buy Toyota any day huge fan of the brand 🙌🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🙌
Nice bakkie 👌 not too much technology, but I will also go for ford 😊
How is the fuel consumption like and the tank capacity?
i would prefer isuzu dmax vcross 💯💯
3:50 what did you think was wrong with the gearbox. Why were you not a fan of it? What type of gearbox did you want?
Despite the temptations, I'd stick to the Hilux. I'd prefer the black edition tho. The red signatures are too much for my liking. I also like the absence of the cheesy stickers. Pity you didn't cover the suspension improvements.
How is the fuel consumption
sox and sandals.. is this a thing in SA?
Can you review VW Amarok please 🙏... thanks for a good work.

Will do it later in the year 🙏🏾
I'd go for the GWM P series, it has similar specs like the ranger and a long service plan and warranty (5yrs/100000 km) and it is way cheaper than the ranger and hilux

The P series is a terrible bakkie but a good car. It's perfect for a lady that drives to work as a teacher or something but can never compare amongst other bakkies. It WILL break and you will have serious issues with finding parts.
I think you left out the trunk size which is quite important to know
Hey great review, so if you factor in the 9 service / 90 000 km service plan don't you think you'll save money down the line and Toyota has an edge over Ford when it comes to that.

I would like to believe so in that regard because Ford you need to pay for it as it doesn’t come standard
Next time take this car on a 4x4 route. I would love to see the performance of this car in that aspect. Danko

Personally I would save my money and buy a preowned GRs or legend 50. The more I see Toyota Hilux the more I understand what Toyota has achieved. My dad has a Corolla 2000 some odd model and it has neatly 500 000km on clock and it’s moving like my polo vivo 2021😂😢 Buy a Hilux and never stress 😅 not that a Ranger will stress you

The problem with hilux is that your car it high risk of being stolen but since you have a polo I guess you will survive 😅

Once you own a ford you will never go back.
the infotainment sytem needs an update
What’s the fuel consumption like? Great vehicle and probably I’d go for Toyota over the Ranger 🤭

Not too good. I was averaging around 10L & on one tank you’ll get like 600km. I doubt you’ll do more than 700km on a tank I did forgot to touch on it but I will touch on it on my Fortuner review
Dimension wise, is the GRS smaller than the legend rs?
@SwitchOffSouthAfrica

Nope Exactly the same
I'm in the towing industry and I can tell you one thing. The Ranger makes money for us. If you want a car that would last the Hilux is the way, the truth and the light. I don't own a Hilux yet but I am trying to understand why you want digital speedometer in your bakkie?
Hilux GR King Hilux
This bakkie feels quicker because its approximately 300 kilograms lighter.
Hilux R Line.
10 GR bagdes
Nicky technically the GRS is a direct competitor to the Raptor...🤔

Neh it’s not. Raptor has no competitor aside from the Jeep Gladiator

Ford can come, VW will done But Toyota will always be #1
All the reviewers are always comparing the top spec Toyota with the middle spec ford in terms of engine
@SwitchOffSouthAfrica
Жыл бұрын
Because it stands no chance against the top spec Ford engine
Ford Ranger boss, no doubt.
everyone has their own taste and is free to buy the one that suits them best, but honestly speaking, ford will never have the quality, durability, reliability that a hilux has, resale value is unbeatable since ford has a history of being a pick -up problematic and which devalues that it is a beauty.

I dont know what kind of rangers yall owned but mine still stands. 7 Years and still running. If its a resale thing the you should go for toyota. But if you want a daily car then ford is your guy.
Looks very basic. Feels like as though nothing much changed except the front grill
Ford Ranger body and interior is much better Ford Everest platinum excellent
Sport bakkie is a scam nje
The price doesn't compensate for all that plastic interior.
Nah Toyota designers are boring and just lazy. Come on this is so 2010
The review is not very detailed, you're more like in a hurry to drive it, feel the interior and show it around, not like a real motoring enthusiast. A rather long way to go in car reviews.

Sure buddy 😂
I don't see anyone buying this over the Ranger, it just wouldn't make sense. You'd have to be a hardcore Toyota fan. The Ranger has more power and it looks WAY better than this. It looks dated, especially when it comes to the interior. Yes it's a Toyota, yes it's bulletproof, yes it's a work horse but it has aged.
The front is ugly the rs Is far better than this
Nikki-Nash🫡😎...I personally like this car in blue with a black nudge bar... yes, you cannot talk about the Hilux and not mention reliability. The interior is functional for a bukkie if you don't care too much about tech and fency stuff. The exterior is faultless, it look like you'll find a 4.0L V8 diesel engine under the bonett😅. That price is a bit high, but it is easily justified. The power is good, perfect off-road and reliable.
