2023 Toyota GR Supra 3.0 Premium Manual Review

Car enthusiasts, rejoice! A 6-speed manual is finally available for the Toyota GR Supra, but just for the 6-cylinder model. Though it’s no secret the GR Supra is based on the BMW Z4, it could be argued that Toyota’s engineering improvements plus exclusive use of the manual/six combo makes for a much better car. Pricing for the manual GR Supra starts at $54,500, with the car we tested coming in at $57,270.

This guy is the first to describe the shifter as vague. Suspicious

It sounds suspiciously like a guy’s opinion. It depends what he’s been driving recently, and maybe he just got one built on a Freitag. Not everything is some nefarious conspiracy

I own one, it’s not vague at all. I don’t love the clutch tho, long clutch travel and grab point is tricky

I feel like the clutch has too much push back or spring feeling also but, its still really good.

Unless you are planning to track the car and need the best drag times, the manual is the way to go. Much more engaging and you wont care about losing 0.2 seconds off your 0-60.

So you said the transmission is vague and then 2 sentences later you said it’s notchy and confident shifting into gears, so which is it lol

Wait in line like the rest of us lol I never would have thought it would be this difficult just to buy the car and trim that I want. Half the battle is just finding a new one for sale, let alone if they will go MSRP or not. Been waiting for about 6 months now I know people that have been waiting even longer

Bad info--manuals always get worse mpg----automatics do better mpg thanks to computer designs... Also turbo motors are designed to work better with automatics as the torque peak is at low rpm, getting a manual with Turbo or supercharged engine is a performance killer, will be slower, and this manual Supra is slower than the auto......not worth it. You want a manual tranny get a Mazda Miata with non turbo motor, not this.

@@alicekim7351 Wrong Goober......a lot slower than .1 second.....I have driven both --you have not. Try half second and 25% loss in fuel economy......turbo motors are designed from the ground up to function with automatic gearboxes. You want a manual try a non-turbo engine.......go back and try again kid.
