    I am glad to see a less villainous nyjah for sure. You could see some of the awkward distrust or confusion from the other skaters when he was being buddy buddy with them. I still have my speculations, but hey, genuine or not, I'm still happy to see it.

    Kelvin got underscored on first run by at least 0.3 points imo. Same for Nyhah. That almost perfect first run would have deserved an 8.6 or 8.7. Yuto maybe got a little to much. A 9.1 I had understood but 9.3? Dunno.

  • @sub.consciousnz1312

    @sub.consciousnz1312

    Agreed and you could see it on Kelvin's face - he's sick of the scoring being skewed. I would guess it also has an effect on his consistency afterwards, not only does he have to try for more difficult tricks to make it up, he's also tilted. Yuto just gets a free +0.2 or +0.3 for being Yuto

    Also in Yuto's first run, during the playback, he clearly missed one truck on his nollie 180 to switch 50 50. In my opinion, he wasn't deserving of a 9. Maybe 8.9 but not 9.

    They need to stop penalizing one failed trick so heavily in a really good run. Daiki put down 2-4 9 club tricks in first run. Should have gotten at least a 9 for that overall.

  • @elimcfly350

    @elimcfly350

    Yeah, the penalty for a fall is way too harsh. If the run would have been an easy 9, I feel like a fall should only take about half a point. Knocking an otherwise 9 run down to a 6 or 7 isn't fair.

  • @ZeJester

    Meh.. I'm sort of glad Kelvin bombed the rest of the final anyways, if I'm being perfectly honest lol. I was pretty salty when he won in Chicago earlier this year, instead of Ryan Decenzo. Ryan was pretty much set to win, until Kelvin just _had_ to land that final trick. I mean, it was nothing short of amazing to see Ryan skate so well in Chicago, at the age of 36 or 37-however old he was at the time. The guy has been skating in these competitions for over a decade, and he's still never won. He's been making a killer comeback though, and absolutely deserves to win. The competition in Chicago should have been his time to shine. Kelvin has already won a final before. I feel like if I had been in Kelvin's shoes, I would have purposely thrown my last trick, so that Ryan could finally have his win. (I would have kept it a secret, of course.) Anyway, whatever. Maybe that's just me.

Kkkk

    I think that yuto's line score was a gift from the judge, in every single trick they gave him more than 9 and i dont think he deserves it

    I’m pretty sure it’s a recast. SLS streams on Rumble live so they probably have to wait to upload to KZread.

    yes it is. it happened live on august 12th. took me 10 fucking minutes to find that out. idk why they dont plan every event in the beginning of the year and then give everyone a fucking schedule... snowboarding is the same thing. no clue when the comps are, just watch it when you get to. im sure thats a big reason why skateboarding/snowboarding isnt as popular as football/basketball/etc. mental.....

    So did they change how heavy they penalize falls, or are judges in Japan more forgiving?
