This looks like the absolute perfect summer lake boat. It's just roomy enough to have fun with friends and family, but still small enough to be very easy & convenient to tow / launch / dock / etc.

The 13’ with the 230 hp engine would be a fun small boat.

I wasn't going to, but I must comment on this boat. I just got back from putting my hands on this boat (Florida). I wish I could get excited about it, but I can't! We own a South Bay, 18' typical round tube, fishing pontoon boat. This Sea Doo Switch looked interesting. There are several reasons why we decided not to consider buying this boat. First, the only way to board the boat is through a gate door at the front. Passengers can’t board the vessel, from either side! Not an issue if you are young and spry…just jump in. But if you are older or a senior, it is a challenge if not impossible or worse... dangerous. When the captain launches the boat or loads the boat at a busy dock or pier, there is absolutely no time to get in, turn the engine on, back out and reposition the boat, perpendicular to the dock, to load/unload passengers. Other boaters who are either launching or loading their boat, would simply not put up with that! There is room on this boat’s port side to add a “gate” door. That would solve that obvious boarding issue. Next, prospective buyers are interested in also using this boat as a “fishing” rig. A major concern is the overall height of the railing at the front of the boat, on either side of the gate door. To attract the “fishing” enthusiast, the rail needs to be higher, like on the “sport” model (or at least be an add on option) to add overall height for the fishermen up front. A height of 24” - 28” would be ideal. This is typically called the “knee rail”. It gives the fishing person some stability while “playing” a fish, especially in choppy waters. The “Cruise” model and “Sport” model have distinctive height differences. The added height of the front knee rail with the gate door on the sport model appears to be modular and could be an option for the various models. The Sea Doo (BRP) lineup of boats offers only a Garmin unit. That really narrows the gap when it comes to prospective owner’s preferences of manufacturer and model of fish finders/plotters/GPS units! Like many others, I have a different preference of manufacturer. Sea Doo should offer the end-user the option to mount any number of fish finders/plotters/GPS units with predrilled “plugged” mounting holes (on the console’s right) for the power wires and transducer wire(s). Next, every boat in their lineup should have a sturdy, collapsible “Bimini” top, so that the passengers can get some cover and relief from the elements. Additionally, that Bimini top should be redesigned to collapse reward, not forward! Next, the engineers/designers at Sea Doo/BRP could work out a design for an integrated or optional mounting bracket for a forward mounted “trolling motor”. This would greatly enhance the boat’s appeal and pique the interest of the serious fishing crowd. Next, there should be a standard/optional “live well” so that a Cruise or Sport boat model boat could be modified to accommodate the “fishing” consumer. The live well could be mounted and elevated, outside the boat, behind the back railing, on the “swim” platform! Also, elevating the live well would provide space underneath and be used as additional dry storage or space for an extra battery(s) for the trolling motor. The console could be redesigned to be more of a storage area. Using the same floor “footprint”, the console could be redesigned to utilize most of “voids” inside the console to store/hide “stuff”! These are some of my observations. I have owned, operated, modified, redesigned, wired and fished from boats for over 50 years.

@@MR.TOYBOX I was fully prepared to spend thousands of dollars on the Sea-Doo Switch. I have been boating and fishing for nearly 60 years. I know what works on the water for us and what features other fishermen would look for. I went to a local dealer to put my hands on several units. I can't tell you how disappointed I was! I spent hours looking at the various models on the lot, thinking about how I could modify the Sea-Doo Switch Cruise or Sport. As I stated, the first issue that I simply cannot overcome is that, the only way to safely board the craft is through the front hinged door. In my youth, that would not be a problem. Now, my wife and I and our fishing friends are all seniors. It would be a tough challenge to board this boat. I really wanted this fishing platform.

I've been trying to buy one since they came out. They simply aren't available.

These boats aren’t working. I reserved one last year, it arrive at the dealer 2 months ago. I went in, paid for it, had to get insurance on it, and THEN they told me that BRP already has a recall on the cooling system. Been waiting 2 months for “a clip” I’m told. Dealer has no time estimate, called BRP multiple times and they just keep giving me dates when “some parts will be in the warehouse” but won’t give any estimate of when parts will go where. Then the dates they give come and go with no parts at the dealer. Makes me feel like BRP has no idea what they are doing….

Thanks for the warning. Some reviewers are lent boats of course to hype them up and we learn the bad stuff from other customers. Maybe when you finally get it you can resell it for a profit to someone else not wanting to wait a year.😉
