2023 Royal Enfield Hunter 350 Review

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Being a motorcycle publication, Motorcycle.com largely caters to enthusiast readers. However, for every enthusiast there was once a potential rider who was curious about motorcycles.
Also, let’s not forget the multitudes of other motorcycle-curious folks who never transitioned into the rider fold for one reason or another. In the not-so-distant past, beginner-friendly bikes were called entry-level motorcycles, which sounds about as exciting as motorcycle training wheels. The more current means of breaking down motorcycle displacements into lightweight, middleweight, and heavyweight categories feels a little less loaded, not to mention that manufacturers are making some legitimately nice lightweights that look and feel like they got the same level of development attention as their larger, more expensive brethren. The 2023 Royal Enfield Hunter 350 is a prime example of an attractive, functional, and reasonably-priced motorcycle that could help turn more potential riders into enthusiasts.

@@1DougBeard you can retrofit a tach for few bucks if you really feel like you need it. Just google for how to do it on the Meteor. I thought I would do that but after two months of daily use, I really don't. You can feel it doesn't like to be reved, you get excellent feedback from the exhaust (the sound is just so much fun all the time that I would listen to it and not the tacho anyhow) and the gears are kinda short so you adapt very quickly to which gear you want at any given situation. Second nature.

Sir you just hit the nail on the head. The term beginner bike is so patronizing and used way too much in the US. Simplicity can be so refreshing and something others should try. Many of us have been there and got the Tshirt too yet would still choose a bike like this to ride. Thankyou

I got my first Yamaha in 1972 and had many bikes since. I've looked at these RE Hunters and planning to get one later this month. My current Honda CB750F is a tad heavy for me to handle at age 68. This looks like the perfect way to trade down. Looking forward to my next decade of riding - on a Hunter 350.

I have this bike in the blue, it's great. My last 6 bikes have been between 750 and 1200, this thing puts out around 20bhp. It shouldn't be anywhere near as much fun as it is. Not fast just huge amounts of fun. Covered more miles in the last three months on this than anything else. It's a blast. Easy and cheap to mod too.

My first bike was a 1975 Honda 175 street bike. I was 16 and I found the joy of the open road. My Dad had a 1977 Honda 750 four K that he bought as his first bike at 45 yo. Two weeks later he went on his cross country trek for almost two months. He kept it for 3 years driving it to work all the time and then sold it and never rode again. I on the other hand had the bug for life. I'm almost 60 and last rode about 5 years ago . Now I see this RE Hunter 350 and I'm hooked, I can't wait to start riding again on my new bike that will take me back to the beginning when I found the joy of just riding a motorcycle to get away from it all . Good job ROYAL ENFIELD!!

It's a weird logic, but I get it. I feel the same way about my scooter compared to my Harley. I guess because it's more nimble and easier to handle, it boosts your confidence, and it feels like you're less likely to crash. While with the heavier bike, it just feels more dangerous. But yeah, it doesn't make sense when you think about it. You're still as exposed as any bike.

I’m hoping Kawasaki comes out with the RS version of the 400. It’s a really fun engine. If my bike looked as good as this I’d be happy. Then again I’m 60 so I like simplicity and not all the sharp angles on my bike. The Bike had trouble going up hill in high gear, it actually lost speed and I jad to downshift to maintain speed. Maintenance is very expensive. 500$ for simple valve lash and oil change @ Triumph of Seattle. You can save a hundred dollars going to NW Royal Enfield in Lacey Washington. This bike foes not qualify as sn all around crusier. It strains itself at highwsy speeds and has very little reserve to get yourself out of a jam if extra speed is needed.😢😢😢

For comparison, the CB300R is a smaller capacity bike, looks retro, has 10 more horsepower, has storage at the back for a phone and wallet, and you don't need to check the valves till 24 thousand k's. It's lighter has an IMU abs and it's around the same price. These Royal enfields really are over priced for what they are.

Eh, that's just the first service/break-in. After that, it's every 6,200 miles. if I'm not mistaken it's also one of the very few brands, if any, that offers a 3 years unlimited mileage warranty.

That is during the run in period and it is a valve adjustment check to make sure everything is correctly set. This along with an oil change, because' oil and filter'. Thereafter the valves need checking at 6000 mile intervals. And there are only two valves that need adjusting. Complaining about this is inexcusable.

@@ShubhoBose 300 miles is a joke. Show me another new bike with screw-type valves that needs to be adjusted at 300 miles. Show me one that needs to be adjusted just after 6,000 miles 😂. And the new 650 twins have 8 valves that need this, again at 300 miles. No new engine should require this. It’s even worse that these latest generation bikes are following hydraulic valves from the last series, which were maintenance free. What a joke 😂

Swings and roundabouts…… yes it does some quite often for a clearance check. However, its cheap and you could easily do it yourself. In fact Enfield promote working on the bike yourself. Compare that to other manufacturers. The Japanese operate strictly don’t touch policy and triumph service costs are eye watering.
