The MN state fair has evolved quite a bit from when I was a kid staying at the 4-H Building for our several day encampments. For me this was late 90s to mid 00s. Bathrooms were always in short supply back then and since then they have done a great job adding tons of bathroom facilities across the fairgrounds. The food was always a big draw and that certainly hasn't changed. One seriously popular addition in the last 10 years or so is craft brewing and their availability and exposure at the fair. I don't care for it much really but it has been wildly successful for the fair. I did manage to make it up there this year with my sister and ironically the same day you filmed this video opening day Thursday August 24th 2023! It's possible my sister and I may be in your video! The Hamline dining hall, 1919 root beer, French crepes and more, Mouse Trap cheese curds and Minnesota Wild Rice burgers are my favorites. Some of the food places I used to go to as a kid don't exist anymore and likely haven't existed for a while.

Thanks for all the info! Great to hear about other people’s experiences at the fair. The craft beer boom has really taken off over the last decade and definitely hit the fair. I’ll have to try the wild rice burger!
