I’m just really happy to see someone running their starter button the left side! No wonder you been pulling holeshots 💪🏼

Great video! This is really interesting because it may answer a big question I had about the ecu mapping. We are working on this new ecu full time at the moment and have uncovered some really interesting differences compared to the previous ecu. This ‘secret mapping’ may actually be the answer to a big question I had about this new ecu from looking at the data. I’ll test this on our 23 125SX tomorrow and report back. We’ll have updated mapping for the 125/250/300 bikes in the next 1-2 months. Keep up the great work 👍

Love it Morgan. Makes sense Ktm would offer some form of adjustability like green, yellow, red spring and mechanical adjuster of old. Now when is the EFI software adjustment coming out??
@highlandcycles
Жыл бұрын
I know. Can’t wait
There's something to this. Likely using midi machine code to set digital dial of settings...power valve settings and ignition map in tandem...
When you turned the bike off, you left it in the white map which is why the green light never came on when you tried it in the hot secret mode, and also why the white mode felt better after you adjusted it
Man your videos are just so good! Just got my 23 tx 300 and pumped to follow along with your tips on these. Did you fiddle with your red idle screw at all? Mine is definetly quite low

Nice! Very informative. Thinking of getting the 125 sx, this mapping trick will be good to have. Still happy with my 21 150 sx. Hopefully KTM will sell a150 kit. Also, when changing the map settings, do you think running a 20 - 30 minute ride and check the spark plug color to see if it richens it up more or less?
@highlandcycles
Жыл бұрын
That’s a good idea
Hi Morgan from the noise and the video, it seems the power comes quicker with the white map vs the green one, anyway hard to say without sitting on the bike, did you feel a difference with the torque from one map against the other? All the best and continue with your awesome videos😅
@highlandcycles

I think I did but it’s hard to tell. I think that in the “red spring” setting, the white map is more like the green map in normal setting.

Very interesting. I think had someone else made the change, then you rode it not knowing what was changed you would have had a less biased opinion. I can see if green is too brutal and white is too tame I guess the wide open setting you did in white would satisfy a guy.

It's re learning the power valve in relation to throttle position
Great videos man I love them. Quick question. Can you do the same on a 2024 to TE300n Husqvarna. And what battery are you running?
@highlandcycles
4 ай бұрын
You can but I don’t think it really makes much difference in reality
I did hear something on this but after spending 12K on the new bike I was scared to try it especially after hitting the button while it was running and ending up back at stealership to get it running again plus wasn't so sure on the info I got other bikes that are efi and all them changes are made threw the ecu rather that be unlocking one or going with a aftermarket unit so I just thought bullshit on that but would be cool same on my bike the green screams high rpm just pulls and pulls my white map feels really flat I would call it and ya I got same bike u got and 3rd and 4th pulls the front wheel fairly easy when ur really in it
Been reading about this on a KTM forum site but you can’t always trust some of the info from these sites👍

They do but that would still not be super accurate. The guys at TSP are digging deeper in. There is some merit to this but their initial dyno runs aren’t conclusive either way. Check out their vid. They are super smart! TwoStrokePerformance
I noticed when you uploaded the wide open map you had the bike in the white map when doing it, I wonder if you are uploading a faster map just to the white map. Like I wonder if your only uploading it to what ever map you are currently in. I wonder if you had the bike in the green map when doing the wide open map it would make a difference?? Idk

Good question. Lot to figure out.
I don't have a 23 2T but I have a 23 350xcf. Been watching your videos with interest. A thought. Doing mid throttle and rolling forward recalibrate the power valve. However remap wouldn't require that as min an max power valve opening settings are done. If you plug in the dongle with throttle at 50% only does the power valve move?
@highlandcycles
Жыл бұрын
No it doesn’t. It doesn’t do anything until you roll it closed. At least as far as I can tell.

TPI's only require a few seconds before you start riding them. Do not touch the throttle to start or omce it is started. No full throttle, super hill climbs in sand until it warms up a bit like any carb bike. The TPI dongle is just for oil pump. The only reason this is a thing on the new ones is that they have an electronic power valve.
