Looks to me like it more like a bulit-in aux tank than what you would expect from oversized tank. Don't think it would leave you stranded but wouldn't be fun if it cut out going up a hill or over a jump. I suppose it's not an issue on the SX with the smaller tank but something to think about if you take the XC to the MX track.

You can get longer bolts and someone to machine spacer for between the tank and the fuel pump and then run something to connect from the bottom into over probably like a hose with a couple of CNC ends

Remove the pickup filter, if it is attached on a nipple see if a hose can be installed at pump and that filter assembly (providing you can attach a hose to it) maybe on a pressed in plastic tube, completely relocated to the left wing at far end of that hose. May put a kink in hose though coming out of that well the pump sits in.

Pretty shure you can't empty the tank completely. maybe in uphill sections. I think the best way is to hope for IMS or Acerbis to build a better fuel tank where they relocate to pump to a lower part of the tank.

KTM used to sale tank foam ( the concept was adopted from NASCAR who used foam to keep gas from sloshing around) but in this scenario you need it to slosh around . in order to keep that fuel petcock out of the way ( so it would not break off) I guess this is the only way they could really do it.

the "filter" will hold prime and kinda work like a mini sump any fuel sloshing will be picked up. you can check out hydra mat. a holley product they have many sizes and shapes. also in the snowmobile world we have pods that have little check valves that shut when no fuel is present these are meant to sit flat on the bottom of a tank shape of that tank might be a challenge as the pods are circular. might have to go ride that baby low on fuel for a while see if it's a issue. I'm guessing that "filter" is going to collect enuf while rough riding to use most of the fuel in the tank.

You'd think the engineers would be smart enough to modify that pump to have feeds into both low sides of the tank ... you're onto the solution needed for peace of mind. This is a huge red flag for me ... imagine a long day's ride, you're low on fuel but still have a 1/4 to 1/2 gal, but your bike dies because you're on a long flat transfer section back to the truck. I'd be super PO'd that my >$10K bike wasn't able to use all the fuel in order to get me home.

I took dirt roads instead to make it more of a straight shot. Bike ran out of fuel SEVERAL times on the flat roads. I had to violently bounce the bike with my body weight while moving to keep the fuel sloshing around and even then it still bogged out a few times. Absolutely the DUMBEST thing that's ever happened to me on a dirt bike. Is no one making a fix for this yet? Some kind of pick up extension??

Ok tried to take a pic of a drawing I made but wont let me post I'll explain best i can. If you run a fuel line hose down each wing in fuel tank that both come up to fuel pump hole.. Connect those 2 hoses to a t fitting that has another small hose on the middle connection on t fitting that points down to the bottom of fuel pump hole. So now you have both wing hoses touching the corners of fuel tank and the middle short hose pointing straight down in the fuel pump hole. So it should syphon fuel from wings into the fuel pump hole.. Pretty sure this will work

Rode the bike this weekend did major hill climb and even shorter hill climb with pretty good incline. Seems like Bike is running out of gas during these climbs also noticed that when the bike is laying down, it’s pissing out gas i In my opinion, the bike is not worth the money ! Doesn’t matter how good the engineers is if you can’t get gas too it!! Not only not being able to get gas to it but it gets really bad gas mileage on top of it so I’m carrying five 12 ounce water bottles full of gas to make a full day ride of six hours. Second,: you have to spend way too much money on the bike to get it to be a decent bike to ride. You can tighten up the steering head, but you still need a stabilizer if you ride deep sand . My bike is burning a lot of oil a lot more than my old 300 . Not quite sure if I like the new pegs or not but that might be because I’m riding with a lowered seat I also noticing that the bike wants to veer to the left . Again, all in all not a good bike don’t buy it !!!!

That seems like a less-thought out design. It's not really a reserve because it doesn't transfer to sump area or give you access to all the fuel stored in the wing. Normal reserve saves a portion of the fuel and gives you access to all the reserve...this should be called Whiskey-reserve since you have to whiskey throttle every few seconds to keep splashing fuel into the reserve. Silly design. A less silly design would have made the sump larger to accept more of the reserve.

The tank has been very specifically designed, with each curvature within the tank, encouraging the fluid dynamics to direct all fuel from both side/wings, rearward then up & into the centre fuel pump cavity under light forward acceleration, you will find in real world operation of the motorcycle, the fuel pump cavity will run dry at the same time as the side wings.

My 2020 beta 300 has a 2.6 gallon tank and I can get roughly 62 miles until it’s dry. last week it ran out a mile from the gas station. When I start I laid it on its left side completely and fired back up when I filled it up I put 2.4 gallons in it. so it had 2 ounces on the right side cavity. problem is here you’re gonna have to go up into the right I guess this will give a person a chance to do them hard Enduro skills. If I tried it it probably goes straight up into my ass meaning me on the ground on my ass.

@@onthethrottle7104 Kmrt braded bikes are the worst on the market aside from completely made in china bikes (that look an awful lot like ktm bikes). Finding a dealership with experience and is knowledgeable with ktm branded bikes is impossible here in this part of the Rockies. KTM and husky dealerships failed to repair their own brand, under and past warranty. Ktm is a cancer in the dirtbike world, I spent 11k on a new 22 huskavarna here in Grand county, assembled by the dealership owners kid (unbelievable, kid did a horrible job and shouldn't be anywhere near a new bike). Broke down several times before 20 hrs. 2 dealerships, $800.00 in diagnostics, parts and labor, still ran horrible. Turns out many ktm parts are actually made in china at a componet level, or came from somewhere other than Japan (not good). Take the pump assembly as example. Not the whole assembly, but parts that make it up, the fuel pump motor is japan branded, but made in china and very low quality. Ktm has the worst resale for a reason, low quality, short lifespan, basically the hot chick with herpes. Get a quality Japan bike beside a ktm and it's obvious the ktm are on par with chinese quality toy grade kmart bikes they are. The tpi and tbi have horrific range and efficiency, tbi is unproven, it will take years to find out. Kmart bikes sell because people have to have the latest design with fruity colors and accessories out of Chinatown as bragging rights, same reason a kia sells. Ktm brands are ugly as can be to boot, especially after a 10 min ride, the paint will be worn off, plastics ragged, tank will have yellowed and constant top end jobs make a mess of everything, forget that wp trash, never again. Kmrt abandoned tpi after pushing it on the dirtbike community for tbi and all new issues in time. Sucked having a 11k dirtbike, that I might see a cheapo gas gas or ktm that is basically the same thing, rebranded over and over again for profit.
