    Another question about my s110…I have the bag kit…I have light/moderate leaf covering on my grass. Is it ok to mow over the leaves and bag them along with the grass clippings or is it best to clean the yard free of leaves first and then mow?

    I’m leaning on getting the s110…is it worth getting the bagger attachment? Do most people with these types of tractor prefer to just mulch it? I’m kinda torn on whether or not to get it right now. Obviously there’s pros and cons to mulching vs bagging but let me know. Great video!

  • @WesternEquipment

    @WesternEquipment

    Жыл бұрын

    If you are wanting to bag then it is definitely worth getting the bagger. They work just fine on these mowers. As far as the bagging vs. mulching goes, that is going to all be about preference. Some prefer to mulch so they are not having to handle clippings and so they can use those clippings as a natural fertilizer for the lawn. Then other like the clean look of a bagged lawn. With bagging you can typically wait longer between mows and with mulching you have to do it more frequently. Does this help you out?

    Enjoy watching your videos but since I've had mine I noticed unlike my STX 38 I had for 20 + years I don't see a fuel shut off valve which came in very handy when I changed the fuel filter. Are they not putting them on anymore or is it under the mower somewhere. I have bought a shut off but have very little room to put it on do the design. Only have about 3 inches to work with between the filter and where the line comes through the frame and don't really want to if I don't have to. Also on your grease points of 5 mine has one on each of the front wheel bearings also. Are the making some with zerks and some sealed?? Thanks for any info you can give me on this.

    Best advice was to not use water to clean these mowers. I always use the blower on all of it. Not sure why all companies jumped on the deck wash bandwagon except to force you to rot out your deck. I’m all for keeping it clean and the mower looking good but it’s a working machine. Im curious, at 1:15 when you raise the hood there is a loud click. I've been checking these out (S140 and S170) in stores and almost all of them seem to do this? I think i narrowed it down to the hood front end, very bottom, where it tucks in when lifted. It clicks as it gets caught on the nonmoving part. Just curious if this is normal or should be addressed? I feel like that could chip or crack that part of the hood over time. TiA

See above you still waiting on a ford pickup because electric tranny shifter is not in America.? See my point.? But I ran my D110 42 deck hard. Live in acre with 200 x 200 front yard with slope.. great mower.( dad was jd parts man 20 yrs west Ks.) but it believe after 450 hrs. It blew a ring.. start great. Just after lil load it smokes.. fouls plug. Motor don't knock. Pull dip stick yep a face fountain. But looking at I guess S130, don't think they make 120? But has to be 42 deck. Yard gardens set up that way.. option 1 buy from jd s130 or lowes.. lowes 100 bucks cheaper top notch credit. But heard bad things.. my d110 cut like crap.. yes had to level blades. That's a given. Grew up on hight end golf courses. Just your opinion or others.

I have a hilly yard and the smaller deck might be a little easier to navigate with but I have some concerns about it scalping spots that are uneven because of the sloped yard. Also have been told that the bagger works better on the smaller deck. And would be interested in hearing your thoughts on maintenence and longevity on three vs two blades. may have been the case a few years ago but we all know the price of things have gone up everywhere. You definitely get your money's worth with these mowers.

    Would never buy an S100 again. A year into ownership and the belt snaps. Apparently you shouldn’t cut damp or wet grass. I cut grass when it’s still short but often it’s damp and wet. I live in NZ it’s wet. Charged $130 to change the belt not covered by warranty. Not very impressed won’t buy again.

    I am sorry to hear of this. It seems this has been a consistent issue with the S100 specifically and I am still not sure why. So the dealer would not help out at all?
