2023 Indian Scout Bobber Twenty Is A Ripper But Needs An Upgrade

The new Indian Scout Bobber Twenty is amongst one of the most comfortable cruisers that I've ridden so far and while it does stay true to old school styling, it's missing a few upgrades that I believe should be added to keep up with the New Harley Sportsters.

@@tribalmemes6414 Contrary to popular belief, you can start on any bike, the issue isn't the power, but the person on the bike 90% of the time... Yes, if you learn correctly and don't drive like a dickhead, it's a good place to start. If you want to speed, break the law, and rev it like a dickhead, get something smaller because you will crash it.

I agree 100 percent I rode a little 125cc honda monkey for a year and I just got my 2023 indian scout Rouge some people said 100 horsepower 1133cc's was going to be to much to go straight into but I was able to get used to the power quick and it handles amazing and has all the power I could ever ask for. Everytime I twist the throttle I smile!

Ive had a Scout Bobber Twenty for about 2 years. Its beautiful, fast, and fun. I always get compliments and I love that vintage look. I had to do some upgrades to have a better ride. The factory seat sucks so I replaced it with one with more cushion. I replaced the headlight for an LED one. Its much brighter now. I replaced the factory pipes with Van Hines pipes. This baby roars now. Those are some good basic starter upgeades. Next i might replace the shocks to give it a smoother ride. Some people complain about not having a fuel gage. I just fill up the bike and reset the Trip Meter. I refill with gas once i reach around 110 miles and do it again. Its a great bike at great price.

I have a 22 bobber 20. Luggage rack, messenger bag and Tailgunner 357's for exhaust. I love it as a second bike. I have a 21 Challenger DH as my primary. The Scout is the most bullet proof bike Indian makes, I guess because it's not all electronics. Just a basic fun bike. Definitely recommend 👌 👍

I'm a new rider and I bought a 22 Twenty. It's a great to learn on I Ifeel the power . It just wants to go . It made me nervous at first, but you get used to it . Just have to be careful and you will be fine. The dealership I bought the bike from already changed out the exhaust with V&H slip-ons. They also changed the suspension and added an LED. So I was good to go from the beginning. Not sure how hot it gets because it's winter and I just got it in December. I'm in Jersey so it's cold. It also has a USB port on the instrument cluster. One of my cons is the radiator cover. It doesnt sit flush and looks kinda cheesy. Also aftermarket parts are pretty hard to find and are pricey. Dean Speed Customs has great quality Scout parts, so I don't mind paying. I was looking at Harleys but just couldnt pull the trigger because of looks . The Nightsters exhaust is an eyesore and looks more like a sports bike. Why would they kill the sporsters? Anyway, great honest reviews. Keep it up!!

I love my Harleys. But, I love the Indians as well. I never rode an Indian, but the looks of most are timeless. The Chief Classic was always my favorite with the leather fringed bags and oversized front fender. Maybe one day I will have an Indian to have both my favorites in the garage.

I owned a '17 Victory Octane and did many upgrades to it as follows: Updated rear shocks, updated front forks, Mean City Cycles seat re-work, Two Brothers exhaust with Vic Shop dyno tune, Michelin tires. Bike was outstanding but due to a bad hip I needed mid contols and none were available. I would consider the Indian if mid contols, upgraded suspension. Nice bike!

I have the ISB and I swapped out that atrocious stock seat for the slightly less-atrocious “comfort” seat….they lied. I then sprung for a Corbin and that was a game changer. Then changed out the rear shocks with the SuperShox specifically engineered for the ISB. Big change. Love the bike. Great video.

I was at a Harley dealer yesterday because I was looking at their nightster. I test rode the nightster special (the one with the touch screen and heated grips) which has an msrp of 15000. They said it would be likely in the late teens after freight and dealer fees. The nightster standard is about 1500 less but no touchscreen and heated grips. Point is those motorcycles are gonna run you well over 15 grand for what is now Harleys “entry level” motorcycles. I went to an Indian dealer in Annapolis, MD today and saw their Scouts were in the 13-14 grand range more or less with the scout 60s in the 12s or so. I think they should keep the scouts right where they are if they want to attract people who are getting into riding and want an American cruiser. If they start adding cruise control, ride modes and ride command these things are gonna be chiefs lite instead of scouts

I live in SC and yes we have some very shitty roads. Even when they patch the pot holes it's bad. They can't seem to get them close to level and before long the patch material starts to crumble. It doesn't help that people in the big trucks don't try to avoid them, which makes them degrade even faster. The worst is when it's raining and the holes fill up with water. It can be difficult to see them until it's too late.

I learned from my Indian dealer rep that adding cruise control adds a lot to the price tag. I don't remember the dollar amount, but it would put it near Chief price for that one feature. Which explains the price of the Chief!

@@ZildjianMan30 was just at an Indian dealer today and the price of the brand new scouts (msrp plus freight costs and whatnot) were in the 14000s range. @William Hinkes Ya it's sad to see the price of these bikes skyrocket. People think that HD are overpriced (which they are), but Indian is nearly right there with them. I have a Scout Bobber 20 and I think it's a tossup between a suspension upgrade or an exhaust upgrade as the First Mod most people get. I'm not that picky when it comes to the exhaust so I got the performance Fox Shocks first. They really smooth out the ride and the add an extra inch of travel to boot. I am many mods in by now, and distance isn't really an issue for me, although I might break down and get a windscreen, maybe a fly screen. And it's a great 1st bike, I've been loving it!
