Love my 2023 sport. I find speed and power to be plenty for my daily driving needs and a 30 min work commute each way. I’ve been averaging 35 mpg which I’m super happy with!

@@videogamenoob100 The new 2023 HR-V is much better with the N/A 2.0L engine is much more reliable with longevity of 300K+ miles. They should have brought back the N/A 2.4L, even for the new CR-V, but I don’t see that happening. Honda should offer it for the next year with the 6 speed manual like they do for the Civic Sport Hatchback with the same engine. K-Tuner also came up with the package for the 2.0L engine in the Civic that brings up the horsepower/torque to the kevel of the 1.5L turbo engine. They would just have to recalibrate it to match the OEM tweaks to the ECM on for the engine and CVT the did for the HR-V.
I didn’t like the previous HRV at all but I love the new design! My neighbor has one and I can’t help but stare at it every time

Does it have enough cup holders?
You can literally get it in all trims. AWD is a $1,500 option for all trims. My 2023 Honda HRV Sport is FWD because I live in the south and AWD for me personally wasn’t worth the extra cost, worse fuel economy or additional costs for maintenance over the course of the vehicles life. It also has a 12v in the cargo area right side of the wall….
I think it’s the best looking compact suv in the market! Looks really nice and yes! it does look like Lamborghini Urus in the front !
There is a sport mode its located on the shifter, it goes D (drive) S (sport) and L (low gear)
@AndrewMaksymBrainNectar

The base model is the LX! Dual zone is available on the EX-L.
Thank you for this detailed review! I was seriously considering this vehicle and the information you provided was encouraging. I did think it had a sport mode though...I live in the mountains, so this is a concern. And some places online say it has an S option on the gears. Maybe it's a different model. Thank you so much! Excellent review!
Just to let you all know, I have this HRV sport in urban grey It’s great. looks spectacular. Really spacious and has a nice luxury feel to it. The speed is much better driving in person. (A lot of people complain about it being slow but I drive fast in highway and it’s up to par) what are we nascar racers lol? Only complaint I have is the fuel economy. I drive from work to home everyday, which is about 25 min there and 40 minutes back (traffic) and I have to refill fuel after 3 days.. fuel economy is the only problem. It pretty much sucks. The car is really heavy

I just ordered my 23 HRV Sport and should be here before the end of the month. I do about the same work-related driving as you, and also fill up about every 3 days...sometimes 2, sometimes 4 if it's next to a weekend. What MPG are you getting on your way back from work? That's usually when mine is the worst due to traffic. I average ~16mpg with my current car during traffic times, and ~20mpg with good driving. I think anything above that would be great for me lol

I appreciate cars NOT having a turbo. Longevity in this kind of car is much more important than a little boost to an already slow car
Looks almost like a luxury SUV when blacked out like this. You could throw an Acura badge on this and no one would question it. Still definitely prefer the cx5 design though.
Really loving your channel. So real. If you're looking at a more controversial topic to cover, I'd love to see an overview/review/proof that some of these modern cars LED lights (cough cough, Acura, Honda, ram, f150) are absolutely blinding to oncoming drivers. It's getting insane, and very unsafe.

I know right, I will be blinded by someone only to see them turn off their high beams, and STILL BE BLINDED
The base trim is LX, not EX, and all three trim levels are available in FWD or AWD. The Sport mode is in the shifter, using the normal drive mode. And yes, no 12 volt outlet up front, but it's in the right rear hatch area. If I get one, I will add a 3 outlet 12 volt box probably on the passenger side of the center console or under the dash. The EX-L top trim should have the dual zone A/C, along with the one knob 9" infotainment display with upgraded features over the LX and Sport two knob 7" display. Also, there's a spare tire under the rear storage deck. The Sport Trim should be offered with a 6 Speed manual gearbox like the Civic Sport/Sport Touring Hatchback.
I have my 2023 Honda HRV sport, but im a little bit confuse because i dont see the AWD torque distribution on my settings.
Amazing a sport model with out a sport model choice option.

Zach-the reason the new HR-V seems bigger is because it IS bigger…your length dimension is incorrect-should be 179.8 inches…almost the length of a CR-V or CX-5…
Looks-wise, yes! But oh how I wish they had a "real" transmission. The way everything is headed to touch screens, I'm glad to see some real gauges now and then. Overall, I'd probably daily that.

Honda specs certain thing at release of a new model, with possible additional offerings later on. This may get the 6 speed manual.option like the 2022 Civic Sport Hatchback later, as well as a possible Hybrid and maybe a Sport Touring with the 1.5L turbo engine. Also, I believe the back of the center console was made to put an A/C vent and USB ports in those blank panels.

You missed the "Magic Seat" feature that the old HR-V and Fit had, unless Honda removed it. You can fold the seat flat, bring it upright so you can fit a plant, or recline the front seat all the way to the floor to make a lounge chair.

A friend of mine has a 2021 HR-V this one looks better on the outside, but to me (on all cars,not just Hondas) the 'entertainment unit' looks like an afterthought, whereas the older ones look more blended into the dash, which for me, that's huge...not to set the entertainment unit is huge, but...

I would buy one if it were offered in a 6 speed manual, I wish Honda made a SI H R V Sport.
Is there not a trunk button on the Honda HRV sport?
Honda should have made this a hybrid but the Civic platform isn't hybridized yet. The Euro HR-V is based off the Fit and is hybrid only. Honda's committed to electrifying their whole lineup so this would have been the perfect choice, especially since the HR-V grew. I looked up all the CR-V generations' sizes and this is nearly the same size, interior dimensions notwithstanding. It's not a bad looking car. Sure, there are some derivative elements in the styling, but it looks fine. It's a mass-market Honda that's going to sell hundreds of thousands. The last generation was quirkier and looked like an oddly lifted hatchback. My previous manager somehow managed to blow up the transmission in one at only 130k and bought a new HR-V just like it the next day. The first gen looks kind of cool.

Personally I’m glad it’s just a simple naturally aspirated efficient 2.0 L inline four cylinder engine. The more complex the vehicle such as hybrid, turbo charged, super charged, plug in hybrid, or fully electric the more expensive it is to fix when it breaks down. Also the more expensive it becomes to purchase. For someone like me who has a very tight budget it was already expensive enough.
@jjacob25101

@@fanguy247b9That's EXACTLY what Honda had intended for the new HR-V. They could still have a turbo Sport Touring, and/or a hybrid, but not for the main production. Many people also do not understand equipment and price involved when you are talking about total cost of units in mass production. I have a whole list of things I can add gradually to address lots of those things it does not have.

The 2023 HR-V feels a lot bigger because it IS a lot bigger. Your specs are way off - the new HR-V is just under 180 inches, not 172 like you show. It's almost 10 full inches longer than the previous model.

No dual zone climate is unforgivable, IMO.
In a world of 5,000 lights on the front of small SUV's like with Hyundai and Kia this looks great. A nice refreshing change :). The touchscreen should have tucked back down into the dash when you didn't need it but otherwise at least it's not some idiotic huge and pointless size. It suits the vehicle. The red stitching looks good too.

*Orange stitching. On the interior for the Sport. They have the screen at that level to keep your eye level on the road. Making it tuck down would be additional costs snd potential problems. I have other interest, plus busy at work, so don't have the time and energy for a faster ride, unless I had the spare $$$ to get something like a new Type R or sonething else, the time/energy to care for it, and a good place to keep it. I may mildly modify and customize my HR-V Sport when I get it, but won't be like my friend Jason Miller at 717Project with his minded and customized 2022 Civic Sport Sedan. He has the last edition of the previous Type R, too.
